IT WAS FIRE IN THAT ARENA
Had to drag myself to bed when we got in so didn't get the report done last night, but this was possibly even better live than it looked on TV... all the matches were piff, crowd reminded me of a football crowd, singing and chanting but pretty focused on the action and in the spirit of the show...all the faces were OVER the only heel that really got any love was Joe... those chants weren't like Mexican Waves from bored fans, it was pure enthusiasm for the product.
We took forever getting out so missed the tag four way and only caught the end of Bull jobbing but the crowd were already on fire when we walked in. We could hear New Day chants from outside the fukking BUILDING as we walked in.
Emma/Asuka was awesome. Emma's a really fukking good wrestler and a great heel, but Dana's heeling at the side of the ring was spot on. Asuka looks genuinely vicious with those strikes. Best chants "fukk her up Asuka, fukk her up!" and I dunno if "The referee's a wanker" made it through when the ref got knocked down, but all my section were on it.
Tag title match was MOTN for me. They built Enzo/Cass so well I think everyone in there thought they were going over and the crowd were ready to go IN on the heels for them. Dash/Dawson were brilliant... actually engaging with the fan chants which were fukking off the charts. Enzo and Cass are so over they don't need the straps for any push...sad thing is they need to move up into the main product ASAP so Vince can fukk them over... New Day awaits PLEASE. Best chants "Big Cass" to Hey Jude, "Are you Dawson? Are you Dash?"
Corbin/Crews is the only result I didn't agree with, unless the feud is continuing. Corbin makes a great natural heel and he's got enough in the ring to back it up now, but Crews is clearly a legend in the making. Nobody that size should be that fast and agile. Guy's a fukking monster, but that bump on the steps looked like it HURT. Best chant "You're shyt and you know you are"
Nia/Bayley was a masterclass. Yeah, the crowd were singing and chanting all the way through but they were totally invested, that's what we do... the place fukking exploded for Bayley and Nia did a great job scaring the shyt out of everyone. My girl went in cheering for Nia and came out screaming for Bayley. THAT is wrestling. Nia's been shown to be insanely powerful but GREEN AS HELL, lazy covers, too much confidence when faced with a champion. She'll work on her craft and destroy someone when she learns to hook the fukking leg. Best chant "Hey Bayley, we wanna know if you'll be our girl" and shout out to the guy a few rows away from me who just kept screaming "LEAVE BAYLEY ALONE!"
Balor/Joe was deservedly the main event. Joe's theme BUMPS... I was kind of surprised to see how many people were pulling for Joe tbh, was probably only about 60/40 in Finn's favour. Great technical match with some sick high spots.... the crowd were less obviously loud/chanting because they just couldn't agree on who to support. Was fun as hell trading smack with Joe fans in the stands.
We dipped after that and sounds like we missed Sami, but I can't complain about anything from last night. They need to BRING A PPV HERE EVERY fukkING YEAR. WE GOT THIS.
