Football trained us well. When you can have a match go 0-0 for 90 minutes and extra time and then penalties (which the Brits always lose ) you keep yourself entertained.

Also. the national team stands a snowball's chance in Hell of ever winning the World Cup. So the fans have become accustomed to just having a singalong in exotic locations every 4 years.
