The New West Coast straight up stopped looking for handouts from established Vets, and went out there and made their own names, own sounds and cliqued up.

Wasn't no riding coattails, Wasn't no "trying to bring back 19__ back", wasn't any of this fukkery where nobody want's to work with anybody.

The new cats made names for themselves, then the old heads reached out to work with them...and shyt got crackin




The entire scene came back, without Major Co-signs from legends...but from Cats putting in their own work....yeah Kendrick got a Dre co-sign, but that was years after he had already been putting in work.


Ny cats, got no unity...and are pretty much only about self.... if NYC rappers spent 1/3 of the time working together as they do trying to be the king of NY y'all scene would be back by now.

If you look at the majority of all these new west acts, yeah they have their own cliques ( OPM, Diamond Lane,Odd Future, TDE etc.) but all of them work together on projects cause they know the end goal is bringing back the coast..and making good music.





NY brehs, what is it about you new yorkers where y'all refuse to understand why y'all are in the situation you're in? Atlanta stayed hot, cause it's rappers network and work together....LA came back because of it, and y'all while bickering about who's running the streets of NY and hating on rappers who aint "representing right"

The fact that people claim NY has no unity is just untrue in so many cases. Cliques coming out like Flatbush Zombies, Pro Era etc and are all working together. Kendrick blew up because he made a good album, but he also had the machine behind him. What NY heads are looking for a c/s? If anything it's people coming up to NY to look for that cosign. New York isn't poppin like it should be, because the people who are talking about the every-day experiences of regular cats aren't getting any radio play really.

The biggest culprit is probably hot 97's program director. All this shyt about the "major leagues" and our ears weren't ready for Yeezus ebcause we've been fed so much bullshyt (by him).

The problem with New York isn't the talent, it's the circumstance around it right now. Give it a bit, we have the young guns coming up soon.

Truth hurts. There are reggae artist in Japan...Reggae is from Jamacia. Imagine some Japanese reggae artist actually sh*tting on Jamacia....That doesnt even sound right. So anyone who talks greasy about the origin of Hip Hop sounds off just the same.

The only success LA has had since Game is Kendrick Lamar..he's backed by a Dre co-sign. Tyga is a C level star and he had to run down south to get on.

I understand that function music is starting to bubble a lil bit and get a few spins, but until it's a actual movement of west coast artists making hits, going gold or platinum (ala ATL 02-Now or LA-90-96) ya'll should chill with this West Coast is back shyt. Nicki is a megastar and ASAP had some success too, it doesn't mean NY is poppin..same rules for yall.
