In the on-demand era, nobody's gonna sit around and wait for you to play their favorite old videos. Yet they wanna base a whole channel around it?

I disagree, when MTV Jams was playing throwbacks all day yesterday I was glued to the tv until the game came on. Sure you can watch vids anytime you want on youtube but it's a lot of vids I totally forgot about that came on. Plus there's that feeling of knowing that everyone else is watching what you're watching that youtube doesn't provide.

Cable TV as we know it is a dying product in general. Once people don't need to rely on them to get their sports its over

you don't need cable for sports breh. If you're a NFL or NBA fan you can order that package and watch it on your computer.

You must realize that's not a viable business model though right?

You can't make money off an antiquated viewing experience directed at a few customers who might enjoy that kind of thing. You like watching old videos that specific way and that's cool, but that shyt is over.

Super Nintendo is my favorite game system of all time, but I wouldn't spend my money or anybody else's money trying to compete with Playstation 4 and XBOX One by bringing back the Super Nintendo lol.

In very limited markets, only as part of the MTV umbrella package. Without that parent company, it wouldn't exist.
