And this is coming from an NY fan, and a diehard Yanks, Jets, and Knicks fan.

NY fans can be summed up by one act: booing Derek Jeter. Because of the baseball nazi's I couldnt find a video of it, but here is a quote from an NY Times article:

IN the home borough of the Bronx cheer, apparently nobody is sacred. Not even Derek Jeter.

What's he done for the Yankees lately? He's batting .175 and in an 0-for-25 slump, and the fans, or whatever they are, are booing him.

They booed him over a minor slump in April. Now could you imagine bulls fans booing Jordan over a minor slump in Nov? Green Bay booing farve over an interception in Sept. Lakers fans booing Kobe? Could you imagine them doing that ever for any reason, much less an idiotic one?

Other fans have their issues, but they are largely very appreciative of their teams, loyal as hell, and only boo as an absolute last resort. Not out of some ridiculous sense of entitlement. And thats the problem. NY fans confuse obnoxious arrogance and abuse, for knowledge and passion, and on top of that they arent as smart about sports as their reputation would have you believe.

The knicks have never found a player they cant ridicule --- especially if hes black. Patrick Ewing is still traumatized over the way he was treated by the fans, and his only offense was not beating Jordan or Olujuwon; two of the greatest players to ever pick up a ball. Still, NY fans will simultaneously wonder why major free agents never want to play for us. Clippers fans love CP3. Knick fans sided with Jeremy Lin over Melo.

Sure, philly is worse but thats their gimmick as a city --- a bunch of miserable a$$holes who boo santa claus. But NY is supposed to be the greatest city in America: The unofficial capital of this country, and home to the best fans in the world.

Dont believe me then just listen to the callers for WFAN or ESPN radio NY for an hour --- it makes me sick to have to associate myself with such classless, ignorant, racist fans.

I stopped reading when you said that NYC is the unofficial capital of the US and the best city in the country, home to the best fans in the world. Tbf NY is pretty irrelevant from a sport standpoint as far as I can tell.

Sounds like you believed your own fabricated hype bra :patrice:

Of course the ATL
Terrible NY sports fans groups(in general):

Mets fans (tortured)
Knicks fans (delusional)
Jets fans (miserable)

I got respect for Giants & Yankees fans though, but I disagree with this thread overall. I believe certain segments of NY fans are spoiled, but not the worst breh

....I was with you up until here.

Like, what was the point in even bringing up Philly, if not to take a shot? Why not Boston, they're as comparably obnoxious.

That was unnecessary.

This is why...Eagles fans cheered and clapped while Irving was temporarily paralyzed from an injury that would end his career:

By cheering Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin as he lay motionless on the turf Sunday with a neck injury, the fans brought the city's reputation for boorishness to new lows. It disgusted even those who thought they had seen it all in the "City of Brotherly Love."

"Unspeakable, even for us," proclaimed a headline in the Philadelphia Daily News.

Well considering its history to the development of the US, its size, media penetration, ethnic diversity it can be considered as such...but you missed the point when I said "supposedly". Thats in reference to its reputation, and not a reflection of what I believe or espouse.

This is factually untrue most Knicks fan I've known, whether white or black, hate Pringles, fukk is you talking about nikka.:pachaha: Also there are so many people in New York that the people who are obnoxious and rude will be the minority, but due to how loud they are they will appear to be the majority.

Boston fans are the worst. People will laugh at me when I say this, but the reason why I think Boston fans are the way they are is because sports is the ONLY outlet for a person in Boston to feel tough. Think about it, Boston isn't known for gangs, murders, crime etc. Compare that to other cities where people don't need sports to feel tough. Boston isn't like that, sports is like their only medium to express "toughness" and so they are the worst sports fans because they overcompensate.

So a few jerks are representative of an entire fanbase and fan culture? And it wasn't the whole stadium either, let's not try to act as such.

And that still doesn't explain how Philly is relevant in a thread where you're ranting about your OWN fanbase doing something questionable.

Actually, nevermind...I just realized I don't really care this much.

Carry on.
