"Kevin Durant is one of the greats of all time, and he's being led by a lesser player in Kyrie. How are you not the Alpha male in the relationship"
"He never publicly criticized Kyrie. Alpha male on the court, but soft off the court"
"KD wasted 4-5 years of his prime"

"Harden was painted as a bad guy on the Nets. But he is the guy with foresight and intestinal fortitude, which Kevin Durant never had"
"Harden knew saw the train wreck and wanted out"

NY media is HEATED :wow: :mjlol:

Now imagine the same things happening if they went to the knicks

Breh :deadrose:
For some reason I feel like they would have made it work with the Knicks.

Idk if it's because the BK Nets are still fairly new or that they are the junior franchise in the city, but it just felt like from the jump these cats didn't really respect the Nets franchise and lacked any emotional connection to it. Whereas the weight of playing on the Knicks and playing in the Garden every night would have kept them in check.

He's call it intestinal fortitude and I call it cowardice. I find it funny how it changes based on perspective.

With that said, I can't really blame Harden for leaving 4 eye Kyrie and KD. It really seems there was no leader in that lockerroom and everyone was just in it for themselves. Why stay in that situation. I didn't think it made sense to have 3 high usage star wing players together from the start either

He wanted to stay and he even OK'd a deal that would have kept him in BK and Marks wouldnt do the trade cuz he wouldnt include Claxton lol....

Your Harden take is correct, your basketball take is awful. The few times they played together their offense looked invincible. KD and Kyrie are not high usage players and excel off ball attacking. They let Harden be the PG and cook. It was basically the Houston Rockets but with KD and Kyrie instead of Ariza and Gordon. These dudes were literally blowing out the eventual champion Bucks and were about to skate to the title before they got hurt.

People need to stop pretending the move didn’t make absolute basketball sense and every GM in the league makes it. KD just never stood up to Kyrie who caused trouble from day 1. Dude spazzed out on a preseason trip to China before he had even played one game and stopped talking to the team. Dude is on the spectrum and it’s obvious.

I wouldn’t do that deal either. Cam, Claxton and 4 first rounders for Siakim isn’t a deal that I would do. You better have a secondary deal for a center if you do that.

They werent asking for 4 but they refused to add Claxton in that deal and KD said get me out of there then......there was other centers available.

Raps wanted Claxton then pivoted to Poeltl...If you have Siakam/KD those 1st rounders with protections likely will be late anyway wont be as valuable...

Nets basically chose Claxton and a flash in the pan scorer over contending... :yeshrug:

From what ive heard its likely it would have been Siakam and FVV in that deal....Claxton is good but he isnt a star,he wont move the needle in a playoff series to hold onto him and have him be the reason you lose KD is kinda goofy to me....KD is not replaceable Claxton definitely is....

You trade for Siakam and move 2 srps for Poeltl and youre in business....Nets decided they had enough of it and wanted to be in control and in the middle.

Can you provide a link to the bolded? Not because I don't believe you, I totally do. It's just something about Kyrie fukkery that makes one rubber neck at the left over train wreck and I never heard of that incident before.

Considering how these guys couldn't wait to get away from each other and didn't respect the product they put on the floor. It seems like they didn't like playing together. Yeah it may have worked with wins(and we don't have a large sample size of that) but clearly they weren't happy with their reduced roles especially Harden. And that is what I'm talking about when I say 3 ball dominant star wings can't work together.
