Nah, the deal I heard reported was they wanted the first rounders and Claxton at least. If the Nets do that they don’t have the ammo to go get a center and KD asks out anyway at the end of the season and now you have no assets to get better. Why would you pay the second highest payroll in the league to lose in the second round? Now they’re back to exactly where they we’re before KD and have like 7 first round draft picks and like a million second round picks. They can literally try the same thing all over in a season or two. They werent asking for 4 but they refused to add Claxton in that deal and KD said get me out of there then......there was other centers available.
Raps wanted Claxton then pivoted to Poeltl...If you have Siakam/KD those 1st rounders with protections likely will be late anyway wont be as valuable...
Nets basically chose Claxton and a flash in the pan scorer over contending...
From what ive heard its likely it would have been Siakam and FVV in that deal....
Word I'm sure they could get DeAndre Jordan back without much resistance from DenverThey werent asking for 4 but they refused to add Claxton in that deal and KD said get me out of there then......there was other centers available.

From what ive heard its likely it would have been Siakam and FVV in that deal....Claxton is good but he isnt a star,he wont move the needle in a playoff series to hold onto him and have him be the reason you lose KD is kinda goofy to me....KD is not replaceable Claxton definitely is....
You trade for Siakam and move 2 srps for Poeltl and youre in business....Nets decided they had enough of it and wanted to be in control and in the middle.
What’s crazy is that he’s everything in practice and on the court but he just won’t be a vocal guy. That’s really why he goes to these organizations because he doesn’t want to deal with personalities. He wants the others to handle it. I’ve never seen someone so alpha on the court who doesn’t have that personality in other avenues. It’s mind-boggling.When James Harden is the one who comes out saying them nikkas is goofy and unfocused, you have some major issues. KD’s inability to be THE leader goes back to his stint in OKC with Russ. He’s not that guy. Back to a ready made team like the mercenary he is in his heart of hearts

Can you provide a link to the bolded? Not because I don't believe you, I totally do. It's just something about Kyrie fukkery that makes one rubber neck at the left over train wreck and I never heard of that incident before.
I don’t have the original article but this one references it:Can you provide a link to the bolded? Not because I don't believe you, I totally do. It's just something about Kyrie fukkery that makes one rubber neck at the left over train wreck and I never heard of that incident before.

Report: Kyrie Irving resisted Nets' wearables, stopped communicating during China trip
How will Kyrie Irving handle leading the young Nets, who developed a strong culture before he arrived?nba.nbcsports.com
It was a little over 3 and a half years. Dude signed with the Nets in June 2019 and was gone in February 2023. It wasn’t even 4 years. 5 years is such an exaggeration.5 years is crazy. Felt like it was 2-3 years. What a waste of prime years.
It was really 4 and they've only played 2 "full" seasons "together", which is why.5 years is crazy. Felt like it was 2-3 years. What a waste of prime years.
Everything you explained is the opposite of cowardice. He's call it intestinal fortitude and I call it cowardice. I find it funny how it changes based on perspective.
With that said, I can't really blame Harden for leaving 4 eye Kyrie and KD. It really seems there was no leader in that lockerroom and everyone was just in it for themselves. Why stay in that situation. I didn't think it made sense to have 3 high usage star wing players together from the start either
