NYC brehs...let's talk about Staten Island.

I have family that might have to move from Canada in the next calendar. West Brighton to be exact. What's Staten Island like... or should they just go to one of the other 4 boroughs?

S.I is nice...a boring place though, not alot of shyt to get into. However BK is 15 mins away, NJ is 15 mins away in the other direction and manhattan is a 30 minute ferry ride away. West Brighton , I'll just say there are better areas they could be living in.

My sister lives in SI so i go through there a lot. Its aight. Sucks to get to the city though. 30 min boat ride on the ferry, which is free. And $13 to cross the Verrazano, 6.50 for residents of SI. and then another 6.50 for the battery tunnel. Unless you drive up the bqe to the brooklyn or manhattan bridges.

Safe, boring and quiet. The older folks will like this but my younger fam won't be so happy.

No alternate side parking
cheap rents

Minuses
Public transportation sucks (yes you need a car)
Boring, boring and well...boring (unless you're a Guido)
commuting to any borough sucks

And FYI West Brighton is HOOD along with anything around Richmond Terrace. The worst PJs in SI are Stapleton and West Brighton. It is most definitely ghetto as fcuk around there. South Shore (anything past SI Mall) is cool, clean and somewhat nice. Most of the North Shore is asscheeks though and should be demolished with a stampede of elephants.
