Pluses:
Quiet/ no congestion
No alternate side parking
cheap rents

Minuses
Public transportation sucks (yes you need a car)
Boring, boring and well...boring (unless you're a Guido)
commuting to any borough sucks

And FYI West Brighton is HOOD along with anything around Richmond Terrace. The worst PJs in SI are Stapleton and West Brighton. It is most definitely ghetto as fcuk around there. South Shore (anything past SI Mall) is cool, clean and somewhat nice. Most of the North Shore is asscheeks though and should be demolished with a stampede of elephants.

Thanks for the tip. I will direct them towards the south shore.

The commute :scusthov:

You gotta ride the slow ferry just to get to the city, as was mentioned takes like 30 minutes. Unless you within walking distance of the terminal you have take the bus to the ferry which makes your commute longer.

They have express buses out there which gets you to the City quicker but they costs 5.50 a ride :damn: compared to the 2.25 for the local bus.

Also that area you mentioned is in the hood part of SI breh.

But SI is a :flabbynsick: borough, only good thing that came out of that borough is the Wu Tang clan.

Some of them White and Latina women out there are good looking though. :shaq:

I've lived in NY all my life, been to Staten Island once and it was to buy something for a car.

That shyt is the Jan Brady of the boroughs.

:krs:

Isn't that where all the retired mobsters live?

If thread starter is Black it doesn't seem like the most progressive place...

I lived in NYC for 26 years and never step foot on Staten Island:pachaha:

The only times I went to Staten Island was to play ball... They had this spot near the pier called Cromwell; place had like 16 full courts. We would go out there just about every Friday. Other than that the only other time I went there was because idiots towed my car there from Brooklyn because of some bootleg parking tickets. I went downtown to see what was up, gave em their dough, then was like "where's my car :birdman:" Them nikkas told me "Staten Island... :jawalrus:", and I was like :wtf: :what: Took me like the rest of the afternoon to get there and then to get back home to Brooklyn... Crap like that is what started making me want to leave.

I used to take the ferry out there all the time for fun. It's really not that long or boring, and most of the bigger boats have snack bars where you can buy food and drinks (even alcohol) to make the rides more comfy for people.

The train system is really interesting as you only have to pay if you use the first couple of stops (St George Terminal and the next 2, I believe). And if you pay for that, you also get a free transfer to the regular MTA trains. Took the train all the way to Tottenville once and walked around for like an hour or two. Looked far more like a small New Jersey town than any other comparable spot in the city.

That place also has a crazy amount of hills. First time I remember going there was for a football game at Curtis High School. Sits on top of a crazy hill. Few other times I drove or was driven there, I mostly remember the hills and many curved streets.

LOL I have never been to Staten Island once. The only reason that place ever caught my attention was because of Wu-tang Clan and even then most of them dudes are originally from Brooklyn anyway. Prior to that, SI wasn't even on anyone's radar from what I remember.

I Went To Staten Island Twice In My Life, Both Times Going To A BBQ In The Summer For My Boy Who Lived Out There, Took The Ferry.

Man I Couldnt Imagine That Commute Every Day If You Didn't Have A Car.

Imagine Having To Get Ya Ass On A Boat Early In The Morning When It's 20 Degrees Out And The Water Smells Like Ass. I Know You can Go Inside But Still, What A Headache

Lived in Port Richmond S.I. is boring any clubbing you want to do will be in Manhattan or BK. Staten Island houses all of the rejects from the other boroughs I came to SI from BK when I was 17 and the shyt was different. THere are a lot of functional retards who rode the ferry into and out of SI
