The problem is not people having IDs to vote. The problem is the barrier of entry to vote. If IDs are to be required they should be given out to each citizen free of charge without unreasonable barriers to get them. The problem is, getting an ID can be harder than it needs to be for people to get them and they cost. If voter ID is to be used, they should be freely provided. Many people consider forcing people to pay for a tool they need to use to vote a poll tax. Poll taxes are illegal thanks to the 24th amendment.

Again, I don't care if states require people have to use their ID to vote, they just need to be provided to citizens for free.

Also, illegal voting is so fukking rare that this whole discussion is a fukking distraction.
