Best case scenario Mamdani is just another De Blasio that institutes policies that improve the living conditions of working class people in NYC. Nothing that he's promising is actually "radical" at all. A Mayor cannot install "socialism" even if he wanted to.

other than that:

* Proof in the shift in tide about the perception of Israel and how many people are fed up with Zionism and AIPAC. Also proves that being against Israel is not political suicide like CNN and MSNBC told Americans.

* Sends shockwaves through establishment Democrats (and their oligarch donors) in terms of the direction the base wants to go (Left-wing populism).

* Gives an alternative roadmap from status-quo politics.
