Some of y’all in here have to be cacs. He’s proposing a 2% tax increase on all income over 1 million dollars to pay for a hearty chunk of his policy platform. How can taxing these parasites, who use estate loopholes, philanthropy, offshore bank accounts, annual gift tax exclusions and borrowing money against unrealized gains to skirt paying taxes be the end of the world? All these beneficiaries of corporate welfare and nonsensical tax policy need to pay their fair shares. The top 1% own and control 54 TRILLION dollars of wealth, while the top 10% of this country own and control 120 TRILLION dollars in wealth and between 2030 - 2050 they’ll control and inherit another 128 TRILLION dollars!​

This is my thing, we allow the rich to get richer without actually boosting the middle class(trickle down economics) our system is broken and anybody trying to help I’m all for it.

But if NY is gonna be more expensive, voting for Cuomo ain't changing that. NY being expensive is inevitable. NY being AFFORDABLE is something that's doable and hopefully Mamdani can work on that.

its the same case for most major cities.

NIMBY has nothing to do with right or left because neither party wants more affordable housing if it means building near them.

Local government mismanage funds and make it financial impossible for anyone to build...
and then they blame others for the issue

This is true and I understand, that is why a demand collapse rather than a supply increase is the best hope for affordable housing in these cities. In bad economic times if vacancies begin to creep up this gives government leverage. For example, if the city provided a predictable stream of revenue or tax incentives for housing that is currently bringing in $0 to become affordable, it can become attractive.

As I said before having a shytty economy, shytty job market, pause or removal of social programs, poor quality of life, and high living expenses would make people vote for the candidate that would address that.

The only candidate to continuously address this was Mamdani, but people want to act clueless as to why people voted for him. People want new ideas/solutions to problems, even if there are questions about whether it will be successful or not. Everyone is tired of the status quo as we are stuck in this continuous loop.

Cuomo spent more time being Islamophobic instead of addressing any of this, but yeah be mad at the people who voted for Mamdani.
