This is not my argument, at all. He's been doing both at the same time for years, it's not some new thing. A lot of NY dems have been doing this. They get their city has problems and have tried fixing them while the mayor ignores them. Not just Adams, it's been multiple mayors ignoring this stuff.
He’s the next Brandon Johnson

Most black people didn’t vote for Mamdami. Mamdami appeals to Arab muslims, not Black Muslims.
You asked what was left about Islam tho. I said Black people that are Muslim. And it was a PRIMARY everyone who voted in it is on the left. Your not allowed to participate in NY State otherwise. Deeeerrrrrr!

Yeah and Black Muslims are on the conservative side of that equation.

Again, I ask you, whats progressive about muslims?

2003: Bloombergs tax increases will drive businesses and residents out of NYC

Posted on Thu Jun 26 18:59:51 2025 UTC

"The rookie mayor is making four catastrophic errors. The first, and worst, is that he believes that raising taxes will work to solve the city’s budget deficit and that businesses and residents will willingly pay the increases. Bloomberg seems utterly unaware that we’ve tried this tactic before and that it failed utterly, making things much worse."

Anyone else find it sad that when Bloomberg did this, all profitable companies left NYC, NYC fell into shambles and now we're the poorest state in America. /s

Genuinely like clockwork

"Such a course is bound to end in disaster, with businesses and residents leaving the city by the tens or even hundreds of thousands." - 2003, same article

"These are the most mobile New Yorkers, who can easily choose to flee higher taxes for homes in the suburbs. The 13,000 richest households—those that earn more than $1 million a year and pay 29 percent of Gotham’s taxes—might respond to an income-tax hike by spending more than half the year in their second or third homes in the Hamptons or Palm Beach, removing themselves from the city’s income-tax rolls."

Spoiler Alert:

Why I’m convinced the future’s bright for Britain

despite raising property and income taxes to stabilize the budget, NYC rebounded strongly, with rising population, private‑sector jobs, and renewed business and residential investment

Bloomberg doesn’t understand basic economics. The city will be done for if he is elected.

Also, he’s going to ban smoking inside bars and restaurants? Fascist. People will revolt.

If it's in NYC plenty of people. The stigma isn't that deep.
We go through this dog and pony show all the damn time. People are already leaving NYC because it's too damn high.

And you (not you guy I quoted) got the other folks who lost Tuesday open to helping. Hell Lander said he's pitching in.

Seeing "free lunch for kids" propagandized as "free lunch for unemployed minors" is absolutely wild.

“He makes Eric Adams look like a conservative right-winger.” “He makes AOC look like a moderate.” Oh, are Americans finally getting some accurate political perspective?

│ Ya, it's simply a way to combat food deserts and has already been done in rural areas.

│ Many states have government run liquor stores and I have never heard a peep about those.
