Rich Azzopardi, spokesperson for Cuomo, suggested that Mamdani lacked “a basic command of the facts,” noting that the former governor had increased state aid to the city’s public schools 68%, and that the state “absorbed billions in New York City Medicaid cost increases.”

“Zohran Mamdani needs to learn that being an executive is more than cosplaying in a custom designer made windbreaker,” Azzopardi said. “Andrew Cuomo inherited an $11 billion deficit when he first took office and managed to close it through hard work and fiscal discipline – words that just aren’t in Mamdani’s vocabulary. He also hasn’t been governor for the last five years, the exact amount of time that Mamdani, as a state legislator, was in a position to correct any perceived inequalities.”

>>>He was just on The View popping big sh1t about Trump and ICE then this. Let’s see how much the corporations and high-earners really love New York.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani opened his first budget season Wednesday by accusing his predecessor of fiscal “negligence” that blew a $12 billion hole in city finances — but stopped short of saying which services, contracts, or agencies could be on the chopping block in the weeks ahead.

>>>No sh1t! Taking care of illegal immigrants is expensive so they thank you, sanctuary cities.

:laff:

:sas2:

Im looking at all you mamdani supporters who were swearing up and down that he would be "different" and here he is playing politics. :mjlol:

Yep same as always. Hopefully this makes more people wake up to see what we have BEEN saying about these politicians, parties and etc.
When he fails to do anything for voters.
I wonder what excuse will be used. I'm sure FBAs can somehow be blamed?

:mjlol: at people mad in here for absolutely no other reason than Mandani is different than what was voted in before.

Praying on his and the city’s downfall bc…well idk. But yall see it
Prayer didn’t make this budget shortfall. Politics did.

What does that have to do with Mamdani? Unless I’m not understanding. Raising taxes of the wealthiest New Yorkers is a viable strategy
The wealthiest can afford to move. The wealthy can live off of favorable loans and save on paying the banks interest instead of taxes. The wealthiest do not get a w-2 or fill out w4s.
:birdman:

This is way above you and his head. If it was that simple and easy, if would have been done.

They won’t go anywhere bc contrary to libertarian belief rich ppl want to be around other rich ppl and rich things. They’re not picking up to go to fukking Ohio or something

They’re gonna pay the taxes and be mad about it. Just like they have in the past. New York isn’t going to be losing some high percentage of wealthy residents no basis for that

You “what about the rich people’s feelings” nikkas kill me

Exactly. If it was up to these dummies they’d happily have their necks stepped on by the 1% in the hopes of some crumbs while the city falls apart.

These rich ppl will STILL BE RICH even after tax hikes. You never hear them complain about effective cost of living increases on the lower classes
