Just because a minority (2 people) opposed the rest of the NY legislators doesn't mean the whole party should be categorized by that minority

I believe it was about 8 democrats opposed. They aren't unified and walk with Republicans when policy can help black people and or other non white groups financially
they weakened the bill and pushed the date to November, you can't sue companies for violating the law unless you work there.

But gentrifiers (CACs) love performative nonsense so they'll elect an LGBT candidate or Cosplay Socialist in order to seem "progressive" and "woke" but that same candidate will switch up when push comes to shove.
