In NYC it's a mixture of both

A lot of the homeless in NYC used to be upstate but when the institutions closed down a lot of them cats hoped on a Greyhound and came down here and they been here ever since....Covid actually made it even worse
All I know is the dope fiend activity got significantly worse near 8th Ave and the 30s:huhldup:

Criminalize homelessness? Yes
Criminalize poverty? Yes
Put spikes on ledges? Yes.
Remove benches and replace them with "leaning bars"? Yes.
Make it illegal to feed or give clothes to homeless people? Yes.
Arrest people for passing out in McDonald's? Yes.

Actually make Affordable Housing affordable? No.
Increase the minimum wage to its maximum wage? No.
Make good jobs easier to come by? No.
Make education free? Or atleast affordable? No.
shyt even health care is a huge predictor of homelessness. Lot of homeless people are schizophrenic, or are addicted to pain killers and have injuries that keep them from standing for hours at a time. Can't work in retail or restaurants if you can't afford a wheelchair or can't stand for hours at a time. A lot of these cats need surgery and treatments that even working Americans can't afford since there's no public option.

Its wild to me that they aren't even willing to give us an OPTION. Its a zero sum game for these psychos
