Bruh, that article didn't say what you are trying to say it did. As a matter of fact it's pointing out that the city is an outlier. Just stop quoting me at this point. I'm convinced you're either a dumbass, a troll, or both.

The housing problem in nyc is supply and demand issue. We simply don’t have enough housing and we’re also not building enough, this creates high demand and landlords can keep raising rents because there are people who will pay the price. Until we start building enough units, no policy or rent freeze will bring down or stabilize rent prices

This is not true. Wasn't there an article about how many unoccupied buildings, luxury apartments and etc that are empty that are basically spots that Russian and Chinese millionaires are literally washing money with. The city is just greedy. Thats why they have that stupid downtown fee, jacking up the price to everything and the fools out here paying for that shyt like suckers.

You are more concerned with trying to LOOK like you are debating and winning an argument as opposed to actually posting relevant information. Stop it.

Lmaoooo..

You think this will work..

Nah..

What they will do is what they're doing down here in south Florida..

Build a bunch of apartments and label them as (Luxury apartments) 2500 for a 1 bdrm..

The system is going to eat us alive..

Everyone is building in one area for people who dont live there..

All the developers here are building for New Yorkers and wealthy overseas people..

The implementation of rent control is usually a one act play with no follow up. Mamdani is proposing to do away with that. To freeze rent at 0% and increase the supply of housing by 200,000, which alleviates the supply issue and should in theory cause the price of housing to reduce. Also, kicking out landlords that don't maintain their buildings, and moving people off rent control if they make over a certain amount so that they can't horde the home.

Whether any of that works remains to be seen, but if that's what the people want, I say go for it, but in earnest. I get sick of people with ideas running, they get the mandate and then get hamstrung by jackasses that have no interest in any form of government working outside of whatever it is that the people who paid them want. If it fails fine, but it fails because it was stressed and pushed beyond what was capable. Not because of greedy b*stards.

All those bodega owners complaining about a government run grocery store were the same ones that were selling ziplock bags with 3 eggs in them for an arm and a leg.

Keep thinking them Neo Liberals gonna save you :mjlol:

Democrats like you is why Trump is in office....come with the same outdated arguments and wants to keep the status quo going that dont work......but get mad when a politician actually comes with new ideas that will make the average american lives easier :camby:

Establishment Dems hate progessives so much they'll break party lines and run interference for maga jus to hurt progressives.

A truly pathetic political party, that stands for nothing.

Nap simply put frozen rent saves regular people money, therefore it works.
All these paragraphs you're posting is just trying to complicate something that's really simple.

They can still adjust rent. They can't blow people out. Rent control wouldn't be a thing if unscrupulous landlords didn't get the game fukked up.

It's working for the ppl I know that got it :sas1:
In fact I know someone in Harlem that basically stopped working cause she was making so much money subleasing rooms in her rent controlled house

No it didn't, rents skyrocketed long before the rent cap was put in place you fukking moron. I lived in Berlin at the time, don't try to tell me things about a city I know better than you.

Mamdani's rise is some suspect sh1t and he's lying his ass off damn well knowing he does not have the power to do any of that from his mayor seat. Theres a board that handles that. Plus the state has to approve of it too. Sounds like a bunch of ignorant ass voters who dont even do their research believing the words of a fraud ass bullshytter. I dont trust him one bit and think theres something more sinister behind him.

True, there is a board. The Rent Guidelines Board. But he would be the person that appoints all the members.

i think Mamdani's a good guy, and sincere about what he wants to do. but some of this is definitely pie in the sky bullshyt :dead:

it'll be interesting to see how he does. all i know is that he better not oversee a drop in quality of life, or increase in crime. republicans will be all over that :snoop:

Adams didn't do jack shyt for this city so saying he got shyt done is full of shyt.

Cuomo did some shyt but he's is brought and paid for and oo yea tried to cover up a whole bunch of elderly people dying in nursing home under his watch so he has that in common with Trump plus he's a sex pest.

Saying moralism is overrated when we see the bull bull Trump and Administration does every day is freaking mind boggling. We are seeing in real time when you have no moral no respect for people in real time how good is the county looking right now.

WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE LANDLORD'S PROFITS???:damn:

So who should New Yorkers vote for? Cuomo :wtf:

You were right about voting for Kamala, but things have gone off the rails now. We need to completely shake it up in every corner of this nation

:russ: Hasheesh and the do nothing democrats in a nutshell

Would Zohran Mamdani’s Rent Freeze Keep Rent-Stabilized Apartments Empty?

If he does well, then great. It something that can maybe temper the nations fears on certain progressive economic policies. But if his initiatives fail without him attempting to make adjustments, then the Democrats will need to distance themselves from him before Republicans are able to really pair the two entities nationally. Of course, the Democrats also can't make it seem like their hindering his initiatives without proper reason either. That will not help public perception. Really, they need to let him fail or succeed on his own accord.

Mamdani was an Uncommitted/Never Kamala loser. Fukk him. Cant wait for him to win, have nothing seriously change in NYC, and leftists eat him alive like they always do :mjlol:
This is also why I don't fukk with him. I think he's a snake and maybe a liar. But he's won over the city so it is what it is at this point. I hope for the city's sake it all works out.

The problem I always had with him is that he’s already this avatar for the party so all the stupid shyt he says he just ends up backing away from anyways to win the general election.

Even AOC had to tone that shyt down in order to obtain political viability and expand her reach. Tact is everything.

But what if.....

Houses depreciated like cars:wow:

Gave the Democrats a platform idea to run on for the next 10 years and they fumbled immensely. But we all know they work for the oligarchs and not the people:respect:

Eh, I don't think he's an avatar for the Democratic party. I know he's running as one, but similar to Bernie Sanders I don't believe most people view him as one.
AOC is trying to get national recognition which requires her to tone down her rhetoric. What works in NYC, doesn't work in other parts of the country. Unfortunately compromise will always be something a Democrat has to deal with because of just how conservative this country is.
