Eric Adam's isn't blaming societal symptoms on music, he wants to deplatform criminals that make music videos pointing guns at cameras and threatening the lives of the young Black men you say need better opportunities.

Understood. Let’s say drill music disappears tomorrow. Now what? What have people like Eric Adams built (outside of the government) to employ large numbers of these young Black men?

I agree with you in terms of the necessity of those type of men. But I disagree with the fact that drill should not be addressed but hey it was a good exchange.

My point is people being influence by drill music derives from hopelessness sparked by lack of opportunities. If drill music disappears tomorrow, something else will take it’s place without an economic base to counter it.

This idea that there aren't any programs to employ these kids is false. They must opt into them. But a better idea would be compulsory military service in my opinion.

No one said there aren’t any programs. The programs will never create enough opportunities in an anti-Black capitalistic society. The problem is there aren’t enough private sector opportunities owned by Black people via group economics for the Black youth. Every other demographic creates more private sector opportunities for their group. That is the answer. All of the other solutions are like trying to build a winning NFL team without an elite QB. You’ll only get so far. An economic base via group economics is the QB.

We go and spend our money with those other groups and allow them to create more opportunities for their youth. There are Asian and Indian families with businesses in the hoods sending their children to college and passing down ownership. All off of Black spending. You hate to see it.

You've been moving the goal post and lifting your pivot foot the entire thread.

No I haven’t. I never said there aren’t any programs. I’ve been attacking the hyper focus on symptoms instead of the underlying problem. Many of these programs have existed for decades and haven’t lead to major change. Black youth still lack opportunities. The government isn’t going to solve that.

Drill music and culture is bullshyt, but you don't want politicians dictating what is okay to listen to. That's how you end up like China unable to criticize the government and shyt. Being able to say whatever, no matter how retarded it may be, is one of the few great things about this country.

Can a drill rapper make a song about sliding on Jewish people or Asian people without it being pulled from YouTube?

What makes you think there’s a hyper focus on “symptoms”?

One press conference where drill rap is mentioned and now there’s a hyper focus the majority of the things talked about on his campaign trail was roots.

They don't care about the youth at all, and think they are beyond saving unless they submit themselves. "What about the rap music" convo has existed for so long and has been argued to death for decades, since the crack era. And the funny part is White people are buying and supporting these artists, w/ no consequences to them.

Because the focus is usually on the symptoms. When have you heard him talking about group economics? Again, I'm not making it just about Eric Adams. It's a collective problem.
