What a simpleton

For y’all it truly is a one shot deal

fukk the moral imperative of not having murder music be the main shyt kids in your city listen to

fukk the musical excellence and dignity artists of the past displayed that has gone down the wayside

If you look to artists/entertainers to apply any moral imperative to their art, then you already lawst.

Again, plenty of filmmakers and TV producers should be in the same boat by that logic. Killing folks on film and TV? Having premarital sex? Using profanity where the churren can hear it? Depicting drug and alcohol use or abuse?
:camby:

Yeah, I'm the simpleton even though I don't let the dangerous drill music influence my behavior. :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

I do not get the problem of his argument. There is no redeeming quality about that type of music. Isn't that ppl always complain about how white executives are the main ones perpetuating and allowing this type of music to hit the airwaves.

Now lets see if those same ppl who make these arguments are standing behind Eric Adams when he is going against the distribution channels of this type of music.

I am expecting this is the symptom not the root cause argument (i.e poverty lack of jobs etc...) however you can walk and chew gum at the same time condemning the music does not mean you are foregoing addressing and solving systemic issues.

Here is an Economist article which specifically cites his plan to curb gun violence while addressing the lack of opportunities issue:

Eric Adams unveils his blueprint to help New York tackle violence

The way cats defend this shyt it is like they have a vested interest to keep the fukkery going on. Like there is NO redeeming quality about ppl talking about murdering other young ppl who look like them or making of fun of dead young ppl who look like them. Literally what's the appeal?

you're the dancer, and the song you're dancing to is one of Black death. Your cavalier attitude about it isn't as disgusting as it is tragic.

The deaths will still occur until you change the mindset of the folks that are causing them.

Ban or deplatform the music and you would only add to the anti-authoritarian :krs: element of it.

But again, none of these deaths were occurring before drill music. :snoop:

No one's arguing that deaths weren't occurring before drill music. Whatever measures need to be taken to "change the mindsets" can be done without banning the music and can also be done if the music was banned.

In one case, there would be less of an incentive to make the music with the aims of getting signed by a record label or gaining notoriety because there'd be nowhere to post it. But then we'd have to deal with the issue of figuring out what people will listen to in gyms while working out.

Watch. Lol. Y’all cornballs gonna see what happens. nikkas fixing everything but the core issues.

Do you really think there are no other strategies being deployed to address the violence in inner cities? Of course you don't but you're so annoyed at the thought of drill music being banned that you have to build this fallacious construction to remind us that Black people are just going to continue dying without the music so why bother banning it.

A lot of you brothers need therapy.

Man shut yo bytch ass up I live in this city. Half these deaths ain’t even related to the drill shyt but keep talkin. These gang members is fukkin GANG MEMBERS. Half the nikkas they talkin bout on these tracks they ain’t met a day in their life. They would be beefing without the music. U think it’s a coincidence that when the pandemic hit and all extra curricular programs got shut down, rec centers got shut down. After school programs, people lost jobs. Kids ain’t have shyt to do but roam around. All kinda poverty hit that crime went up? Be a fukking dumbass bruh.

Where you live has nothing to do with the argument that drill music has no value in this society, that it is anti Black and that it shouldn't be allowed to be distributed for wide consumption.

Yea. Let’s get rid of a type of music and think shyt won’t get worse and worse. Instead of telling these nikkas to stop naming people in songs and talkin bout dead nikkas. It’s just regular street rap outside of that. Don’t even have to be that either. shyt could just be lit. There’s drill songs that ain’t about killing ops. But yea. Get rid of some shyt u don’t understand to solve a problem that won’t be solved by getting rid of said medium. shyt is a slippery slope. There’s BEEN hip hop police. This ain’t nothing new. This cat just trying to reactivate all the bullshyt of previous. Stop n frisk. All kinda shyt. Same way people begged Biden to implement the shyt he got criticism for when he tried to run for President cause people were short sighted and didn’t think of the implications of the decisions they were telling the govt to make. Hindsight is 20/20 but people keep making the same dumb ass mistakes over and over again out of desperation. Rather than tackling the core of these fukking issues that these politicians REFUSE to fix.

It doesn’t matter if it reduces crime or not…the shyt is repugnant shyt is morally reprehensible I’ve been listening to drill since I was a younging when the shyt first came out facts is facts :dead:

If it can be deplatformed and the artists can be pushed in a different direction than so be it

Bronx can do better than what these nikkas producing both artistically and content wise

It be better for the kids way more $ in being the next A boogie or Lil Tjay
