Regarding East New York, the only white people there are the ones transferring from the LIRR station or Broadway Junction. I have yet to meet any white people who actually live there

I’ve seen people trying to say Brownsville and East New York has hipsters. The only part of those two areas that have any of the sort is Ocean Hill

But Brownsville and East New York are black/Rican 99% of the time.

If you look at it the Marcy Houses on a map, it's pretty much right around the corner from both Williamsburg and the super gentrified part of Bushwick. They're probably just tourists who were staying in that general vicinity

Marcy is sort of a tourist attraction since everyone from around the world knows Jay Z is from there.

People don’t know Marcy is surrounded by 3 or 4 other housing projects and Cacs never take pics in front of those.

whole foods is the most expensive grocery chain in america. given that it now resides in a once majority black neighborhood, it's indicative of how the demographics are shifting. long time residents didn't suddenly get a raise in income to warrant the growing high end retailers the neighborhood is attracting. The cost of housing going up and cost of buying goods and services in their neighborhood rising makes it increasingly inhospitable to residents with generations of history there. they are purposely getting displaced by being priced out.

I could see a small amount of white gentrifiers moving to Cypress Hills (since it sort of feels like Bushwick) but I doubt that will happen to anything South of Atlantic Ave
