Concorde was faulty as fukk, had numerous crashes on take off

Maintenance is what killed it too. Just too expensive and the upkeep was too much. When you have something that moves that fast its a lot of maintenance that goes into the play. A lot of preventive maintenance on the structure (frame and wings) and the engines.

People don't realize how much upkeep going into planes even big passenger planes. Working in aerospace for years I understand how much it takes to keep those birds in the air. From the stress of them flying, taking off and landing...plus the physical stress on the plane from being in the environment.

They just couldn't get their return on investment and turn a profit.

That's quicker than it takes to get to Manchester and I'm here 4 it!

Trump has already experienced this
He did it in November 2019 to London, got there super duper fast
Game changer but like others have said, we won't see this for another 30 years

I think we may he surprised at how quickly this becomes commercially available.

Yeah speed is cool, but safety should take precedence

And with a plane going that fast, it would be impossible to see danger in front of you. Not even Air Traffic Controllers can save you
I misunderstood the point of your post, I thought you were just referring to speed.

That being said, air travel is incredibly safer already and arguably the most safe form of mass transit. Little excerpt from the Washington Post:
This, after all, is the nature of the commercial aviation industry. Air travel is the safest form of mass transportation. We’re far more likely to die on a train or a passenger boat. We’re safer sitting in an airplane than in a car. And plane safety gets better year on year.
The airline industry has a lot of corruption and problems, but does have a legitimate history of an elite safety record and safety pretty much constantly improving.

Better off throwing a bag at true high speed rail and stop being bullied by Big Oil

You mean London > mainland Europe > entirety of Russia > Alaska > entirety of Canada > New York?

Or a link across the Atlantic?

Because either way I'm good :damn:
