Also good for them to realize $15 upstate would be making the equivalent of like $25 an hour in the city (maybe more). Flip Side I expect a lot of fast food spots to cut staff, The city might have to figure some shyt out of to hire more manual labor workers to try to keep unemployment low. Its going to have a lot of city worker unions demanding a pay increase too, which makes sense since on the low Gov't workers make up the city's middle class.

Also Cuomo is a rat faced bytch for basically taking Bill de Blasio's idea for a NY increase (where it made the most sense) and spreading it upstate which isn't really meant for a wage increase because its mostly backwood towns and rustbelt cities and then fronting like its his idea.

This increase is going to push NY more into SF east than people are going to like to admit. I don't know if this will slow gentrification or speed it up but no way this doesn't have a large effect on it.
