NYPD Blue was cool especially the early seasons, but it went on way too long.

Homicide Life on the Streets was the superior cop tv show of the 90s IMO

Yeah the best years was when Sipowicz and Smitts were partners, season 2 to season 6

Man when Smitts gets sick and passes, that was so hard to watch :mjcry:

Yea that was the best episode of NYPD Blue.
I agree, the show dropped in quality after season 6

Bro, the way they shot it and how showed what was happening in real time from Smitt’s perspective and then everyone else :mjcry:

Yeah and I think the main thing is because Andy and Bobby were the GOAT partners

Glad to see someone else is enjoying watching this show again too :salute:

Yeah, actor James McDaniel plays Lieutenant Arthur Fancy. He’s an amazing actor

Facts. I love how they show how flawed and human all the characters were, especially Andy Spiowicz.

It’ll take you a while to get through the whole series because it’s 12 seasons and like 20 episodes each season

The show ran from 93’ to 05’

They made the switch from John Kelly to Bobby Simone because actor David Caruso wanted a raise.

Caruso wanted $100,000 an episode
Oh word?

I thought it was because of CSI Miami, but that timeline doesn’t add up.

I love how there are storylines that go beyond 1 episode, especially things happening in the lived of the characters.

But also super small things like “Watch your shoes” (Sipowicz to Simone when they walk into a crime scene) that make things “real”.

This show has actors that have mastered body language and facial expressions, obviously it’s all scripted but when Sipowicz looks at someone a certain way you as the couch detective start looking at them sideways too.

Nice to see someone really enjoying the show.
:blessed:

Did you finish the whole show?

Btw: on a different matter. I’ve only watched maybe 10-15 episodes of Law & Order (the original, not SVU). Is that worth watching completely?

CSI Miami came much later

He left the NYPD Blue because he wanted more money and he thought he was going to be a movie star.

Yeah, that’s another great thing about the show, storylines continue beyond just 1 episode and they go in depth.

Exactly, the intimate details that most tv shows don’t include that make it realistic

Facts and much like Homicide, they were ahead of the game filming the show almost like your watching a documentary instead of a tv show.

I’ve watched almost every episode.

As for law & Order the original, I think so. I’ve been rewatching that on RoKu too for the past two weeks.
