:comeon:I just said I am not sticking up for Liang.

He's going to trial, he's gonna get manslaughter at least, by the sound of it.

Don't see what makes this different than any of the other million tragedies that happened today in the world, or why people are rioting right now.:mindblown:

People are rioting because the relationship between people of color and police were fukked up. Oh, I guess you DIDN'T know shyt about Missouri police getting cleaned out because the community didn't trust them anymore?

And you wonder why they mad

Cool, but what does burning down Mcdonalds and stealing from liquor stores have to do with the relationship of people of color and police?

You know you can change citizens getting fined to pay for revenue by voting for it. :ohhh:

nah lets loot a liquor store. :russ:

You do know the people looting aren't the people who have been out there everyday since August right? You even see video of the looters? It's a bunch of stupid ass teenagers with (more than likely) shytty ass parents. Stop painting every single protestor with the same brush. You sound like that c*nt Megyn Kelly from Fox News. nikkas can't control everybody who comes out there. If you're mad about the looting direct your anger at the Governor who said he was using the NG and Police to protect property.

I'm tired of explainin this shyt to nikkas, I'm bout to just start handin out negs to you idiots who refuse to use common sense before posting shyt like this :birdman:

When every avenue of change you try gets denied by those in power, what do you think happens? You focus on them only targeting liquor stores but missed the fact they are bucking at police and burning stations down. Some of them are fukking up the community but others are going right at the corrupt system in play. No one wants to riot but when it' the only way to get change then it will be done. I bet you think Hong Kong was just given back to China by the British peacefully huh?

I'm not, I said I don't see why people are rioting, not protesting. Maybe there is a reason though, i'm not gonna act like Koopa isn't right about legal powers being denied by those in power.

but regardless,, burning police cars/stations is stupid. How can you complain about low revenue for police leading to them writing too many tickets, then think burning 10k+ cars, million dollar police stations is a good idea? :mindblown:

Cop involved in fatal shooting of Akai Gurley indicted
JOHN MARZULLI, OREN YANIV

A rookie cop who shot and killed an unarmed Brooklyn man in an unlit housing project staircase has been indicted for manslaughter Tuesday, the Daily News has learned.

Peter Liang will face criminal charges that can send him to prison for up to 15 years for the death of Akai Gurley on Nov. 20, 2014, a source said.

A grand jury started hearing the case on Feb 4. A spokeswoman for the Brooklyn district attorney declined to comment.

A source said Liang was indicted for a top count second-degree manslaughter, which means he acted recklessly, among other charges.

Liang discharged one bullet when patrolling the stairways of the Pink Houses in East New York, striking Gurley in the chest as the man stood in the landing a floor below.

The News reported that Liang and his partner did not answer the radio in the six-plus minutes right after the shooting and instead texted their union reps.

The DA had obtained an indictment in recent months against three cops in two different incidents involving alleged assaults during arrests.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton had previously called Gurley’s shooting “an unfortunate accident.”

Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, echoed the sentiment when told about the indictment.

“It’s a tragic, tragic, tragic case,” he said. “I’m sad that he was indicted. I don’t know exactly what transpired in that hallway, but I believe it’s a truly accidental incident.”

Liang is expected to turn himself in Wednesday morning ahead of his arraignment in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

"The use of deadly physical force is necessary to defend the police officer or another person from what the officer reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of deadly physical force."
This is my problem. They operate under rules that they are not prepared to practice responsibly.

That's waaaay too much responsibility & power to own after what, 8 weeks of training.

It's beyond physical. It's psychological. It's philisophical. It's behavioral. It's cultural. It's societal. And a bunch of other fields & conditions.

Can't get that training in a couple of months.

My problem is a lot of people, on this site and in general, are complaining about police brutality while not realizing it is essentially a necessary consequence of having a basic police state in the US today.

You can't support Obama and claim to be an opponent of police brutality.

I don't want to hear any of this 'theres nothing he can do" bullshyt. He keeps the drug war going cuz he's corrupt like the rest of the recent US presidents, the drug war is the main way black people are harassed and treated unfairly today on the basis of race.

He makes no attempts to stop mandatory-minimum sentencing.

Not to mention the entire phenomenon of sustaining poverty for votes with the inflation tax via quantitative easing that most people know absolutely nothing about.

Libertarian/Anarchy policies will actually address the problem of inequality of race in the US but they are blindly disregarded because mostly white people describe themselves as Libertarian. Black people are letting the emotion of having a black president blind them to the harm h e is doing to the black community, and in general.
