There is a difference between quitting and retiring early. A lot of 20 year guys are able to retire but stay longer doing non patrol work and other divisions within the department to pad retirement.

Other than money there's no incentive to stick around longer.

These guys aren't quitting and going to work at some company or a business. They may take a second job or work part time for some money, even good money but it's like some 27yr old officer is just turning in the badge and finding something else for income.

When anyone else quit their job
They called lazy and selfish

When cops do
Mafukkas act like that was their only resort and they deserved to
Because they are the most entitled, pampered, overpaid and overcelebrated job in the world. Time to bring back this accurate meme

It's astounding how cops have managed to play victim here. "The community doesn't like us! Wah! Wah!". Total lack of self-awareness. How could they be completely oblivious to the growing anti-cop sentiment going on when they routinely abuse their power and treat people like shyt?

Also a couple of hundred cops quitting won't result in an increase in crime. NYC has one of the highest cops per capita in the world. If anything there are TOO MANY cops. When you call 911 for a minor emergency theres typically an OVER response where dozens of cops show up with most of them being useless anyway. Too much redundancy.

A lot of the cops who are quitting are not going into other law enforcement jobs though.

Most of the time I see NYPD they're just standing around on their phones. It's probably boring as fukk mostly.
