My Astraweb 1TB/$50 finally ended and I'm looking for a new newsgroup provider... any recommendations? Preferably one with a similar price scheme.

Astraweb and its siblings are one of the worst option for usenet because of DMCA takedowns(but if you never had a problem with it then it may not be a problem for you)

Tweaknews is highly rated but I havent used them myself

I use Giganews which is reliable but expensive so I dont recommend it


hmm thinking about it that Astraweb deal was incredible, it plus a backup would be a great option

Rule of thumb is, don't drop subscribers in forums. PM them. I'm sure people who want to stop it can find these providers, forums or not, but still, don't help them out.

I know what you mean but in reality Giganews and Tweaknews as well as Astraweb are all well known and advertised

now when it comes to indexers thats a different story

Yeah, I was under the impression that indexers were PM only. Regardless thanks for the tip on Tweaknews.

I had a trial for tweaknews that ran out. I didn't sign up because they don't take paypal. Right now I'm rolling with Astraweb which is fine for most things, but I need another backup one for the select movies that get taken down from Astraweb.

That's STEEP fam. Everything better be gravy lookin' for stuff with that price. I'm already paying 80 for my internet with 1 cable box.

I can't even justify paying that much for it. I really liked the combo I had with Astraweb + Tweaknews. There's nothing comparable to Astraweb's 11 per month/unlimited out there?

astra has the $11 a month, $15 every 2 months or the $96 a year deals available

they're not publicly listed but they are advertised on private indexers

Yeah, I have the 11 per month with Astraweb/Unlimited.

I just need a block option for the files that have that occasional struggle download that Astraweb gives me for some files.

Giga has a $5 a month plan with a 5GB limit

maybe sub every few months when you really need something

I set up my unlimited account on my friend's laptop last week not knowing that you can't share accounts and download at the same time and this dude has been going ham with the downloading

I'm a have to tell him that he gonna have to get his own account because I'm not for my shyt not downloading cause he's always grabbing something
