thats it. Diamond/Finesse/Show & A and O have never broke 200k i dont believe. crazy

and hes the least talented one too...i dont think anyone calls any of his albums classic..don cartagena is prolly the closest he has to one that would match with the rest of the DITC members

i dont think any of O's album did more than 100k, Jay was already plat by then.
In 97? Vol 1 wasn't certified platinum until February of 99. After Vol 2. dropped.

But with two gold albums Jay was definitely on another level.
But he got that push with the Nutty Professor soundtrack on RD and then singles with Babyface with full on sell out videos

I liked his first album a lot. Still never heard JOE, but I thought that was supposed to be the one.

Lmao at this album being a "classic"
(and i bought this album when it came out cause he redid that tevin campbell song)

nah breh..don't disrespect that song by talmbout it was sampled from Tevin Campbell...that is a brothers Johnson sample ..he even clarifies that in the article

jewelz though is a personal classic..one complaint I have about it is was a little disjointed...it didn't flow like word..life which I think is a true classic

but jewelz had songs I fukked with hard..surprisingly my world was not one of them

can't go wrong both the original and the remix with changing faces - this might be my favorite song on the album

That song will always be special to me - that's when the internet age began for me. I remember streaming that song non stop through RealPlayer. Crazy.
In 97?

bought this album at least twice. that said... jewelz might be a personal classic. but i dont think you can call it an outright classic. if i remember right the response to "far from yours" was not positive, and a lot of people weren't feeling the new direction in comparison to word... life. personally, i've always liked it more than word... life, but i dont think it's the better album overall. not even close. i just like OC on this type of production more, even with the misses throughout the album.
