Starting to get to Bush territory here... Republicans getting blame for shutdown but president is taking massive damage ...i would say its usually worse for president to lose their popularity than the congress when it comes to future elections...the fact that the AP's headline is GOP getting the blame over Obama's record low approval shows how bias the media truly is

http://bigstory.ap.org/article/poll-gop-gets-blame-shutdown

Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it. Congress is scraping rock bottom, with a ghastly approval rating of 5 percent.

gwb averaged a 37% approval rating in his second term. his lowest point was 25%. obama's approval rating isn't the story here and doesn't matter much right now.

because the grand ol party and the tea party klan are the obstructionists pressing forward with the shutdown to get what they want. don't like it that aca is law? then get a viable potus candidate and win enough seats in congress to change it. what they're doing right now isn't going to help them during election time.

GOP is going to get obliterated in 2014. Obama is going to have democrats controlling the House and Senate for his last two years in office.

you think he cares, its his second and last term :russ:

his legacy will overshadow whatever approval rating he has
/thread

:whoa: has been calling this since day one. :obama: is more concerned about his legacy rather then addressing current issues at the moment.

Years from now people will just point to a gridlocked / broken congress as excuse for not getting everything planned done, but it'll likely happen again, but "still" being able to drop the "Affordable" Care Act, The "Dream" Act, Gay Marriage etc... will be seen as monumental and game "changing".

yes, he will. dems, thanks to the gop, are now leading in all 17 districts they need to flip. dems will keep the senate. you're underestimating just how much the gop has squandered their chances in 2014. and don't even respond, cac fakkit. i don't have discussions with idiots like you. keep it moving.

I'm saying, dudes are not seeing the big picture.

Even the most celebrated presidents are flawed and Obama despite his many flaws, has accomplished a lot.

Dudes legacy is already solidified. People who are prone to shyt on him more than likely will prop up another President who was equally as flawed, or at the very least, ignore their flaws in order to prop up their successes. That's kinda how the shyt goes, has always gone, and for reasons that might have more to do with the fact that he's the same color as the text on my screen than his actual actions, people will scrutinize him even more than any other POTUS that has come before him.

fukk a poll, Dems will not turn out enough votes in those districts to change anything... Their will still be divided government in 2015

37 + 53 = 90. That means the question was framed as yes/no/can't decide. Be prepared to eat crow when other posters flood this thread with straight up or down polls that have Obama at 45%

now if the country defaults and the rates go up on the debt other countries hold...that won't be good
