There has been no logical suggestion from anyone to say what Obama could and should have done in regards to Florida and Ferguson

The cameras are a good start. Make them tamper proof too. But more needs to be done, but that will be community based.

The case is clear cut, police officer murders unarmed teen in cold blood while he was surrendering. But it's bigger than Mike Brown, the police are becoming militarized and treating blacks like an invading force. It's obvious our local governments wont protect us, it is the job of federal govt to step in and enforce justice. Instead, they are arming them with tanks and machine guns. I think looking back on these times we will realize these were the first shots fired in a war on citizens.

Thats not how this works.

The precedent it sets would be terrible and effectively say that any future president can circumvent any court ruling and be as vindictive as possible because they didn't like the outcome.

Having a black president doesn't mean you always get what you want.

The problem may rely on the law or it may not, but perverting the law doesn't help anyone.

I'm disappointed from reading posts from posters that are angry at Obama. Expecting the President to fix a broken local policies prove that some of us has lack of knowledge on the difference between state, local, and federal power and their limitation. Obama could yelled "fukk Amerikka" and be bashful of the grand jury's decision, but his approach wouldn't overturn the grand jury's to not indict Wilson. Everything what Napoleon said in this thread is the truth. He sure did a great job of debating against a group of upset posters with facts.
Our president doesn't control local police departments and can't do anything about it unless the police violate federal legislation. We also have to be mindful there wasn't any empirical evidence of any civil right violation that could have press Wilson to face trial in federal court.

The onus is on the local authorities to oversee police protocols and police intercation with civilians.
