:leostare:

Because my individual decrease in pay will not have an effect on the overall economy. However, forcing EVERY business nationally to pay a minimum wage of $9 will.

So raising the min wage to $9 is still not a good idea.

Would you be okay with a 35% paycut for your position across the board to lower labor costs to curb rising prices and inflation?

SMH @ nikkas thinking giving poor people money so they can at least get near the poverty line is a bad thing.

It's an economic stimulus, dummy.

Got a lot of Joe the Plumber types in here. Still hooked up to the Matrix. Y'all know you're never going to be rich right? :heh:

:umad:

lol

If you don't know this, then you are screwed.

Who is worst off, the guy who sees the political maneuvers being played or the guy who doesn't understand basic economics and thinks crazy ideas will bring prosperity?

Just a question.

I will bet on the guy knowing economics being better off. He has the knowledge to position himself when the gov't starts to mess things up.

Oh, and didn't the government have to bail out a bunch of guys who knew basic economics to the tune of nearly a trillion dollars? Those same economic wizards that nearly tanked the GLOBAL economy with their vast economic know how?

Yeah, those guys. :heh:

Stop with the BS. Show some real world examples where raising the minimum wage hurt the economy and the working class. See the bruhs in here on the side of the people are posting charts, studies, facts, etc....and you in here posting bullshyt and what you learned from a mufukka teaching high school economics.

Prove that increasing the minimum wage not only causes a huge jump in inflation but will also make it harder to find a job.

Using the logic of these fools ending slavery should have been the nail in the coffin for the American economy.

another thread for the cacs and house ******s to criticize our president doing his best to improve the conditions of our working class. don't quote "eco101," because the very same economists you look to (adam smith, et. al.) are the same fukkers whose sick ideologies put us in the mess of gross economic inequality. parrot that shyt to someone who isn't well versed on economic theory.

like someone said, some of you c00ns think you're going to escape off that plantation and start dining with the white boys you worship.

For the record, minimum wage hikes have not resulted in increased hardship for the working class. it has raised the standard of living for millions. another raise will bear out the same results.

Minimum wage has raised the standard of living for millions?

Right. Where are those individuals right now? Capitalism has raised the standard of living for millions.

This isn't about being a "c00n", its common sense. Unemployment will be a constant issue in this country for the many next years. Anyone paying attention can see this, even without this wage increase.

It will not get better and this will not make it better. Please try to see that this is not against President Obama. I want to prosperity as much as anyone, but this is not the way.

As I said earlier, wages do not matter if prices are affordable. Why doesn't he institute price controls, wouldn't it be better? None of those things work, that is why. Please try to look beyond the initial and think about how this will affect everyone in 5-10 years.

If you think jobs are leaving America now, just wait. Why do you think a company would ship its operations all the way to China and India? Because they like dealing with the lauguage barrier, long distance, learning curve, intellectual property theft, etc. No one wants to go there. Companies are escaping high costs. These are the perverse effects this would cause. A very popular thing companies do is shorten hours. You are now part-time instead of full time. Gradually the call center goes overseas.

I was at McDonalds once very late at night. I went to order and an Indian sounding person took my order. I was in a very caucasian area. I pulled up to the window and I only saw white people inside. I was like wtf. Did someone in India just take my order at the drive through?

This isn't just economics, this is about business too.

If you own a business one of your toughest jobs will be to beat down costs. Cost always want to raise. If you don't pay attention to your costs, you will wake up one day and realize that you have been breaking even or not making any money at all. This would be an open assault on small business owners(don't care too much about corporations).

As usual corporations will take the hit and put smaller companies out of business, when their competitors are out cold they will raise prices. This is how those multinationals roll.

^ okay lets look past price of goods for now because the more important aspect is smallbusiness. Raising things on a federal level makes no sense. New Yorkers may laugh at 9, but the dude running a hardware store in North Dakota just sees a huge dent in likely already low profit margins. This just opens the door for the few big corporations to complete the monopoly, which is NEVER good for the people

Any proof of this or are you just talking out of your ass?
Exactly. They think it is an increase in pay without reprecussions. I personally am all for raising the minimum wage but I know inflation is going to be right behind it fukkin everybody up.

In the end it wouldn't end well. It's already difficult to afford basic shyt in this country for many people as it is with minimum wage $7.50/$7.75. when all of our necessities (gas, bread, milk, eggs, ect.) are twice what they are now then people will be crying wolf and making $9 wont even matter.

What the hell are you talking about?

Cost of living is going to increase regardless of anything.

To think the cost to live in this country should continue to rise and not the minimum amount to pay an employee?

I fail to see the consequences?
