:gucci: What the fukk you think is going on with Ukraine right now?
That's one narrative but I certainly think there's a lot of evidence to the contrary.

Remember how this all happened. Yanukovich wanted to sign an agreement with Russia. Some protestors protested his decision causing a ruckus. Some maniacal assassin just starts shooting into the crowds and the violence further escalated.

Yanukovich signs a peace deal with constitutional reform and elections to be moved to an earlier date, but soon after some lunatics begin invading government offices and eventually a coup takes place.

Despite the EU being a signatory of said peace deal along the US having encouraged the deal also, they do next to nothing to suggest that a coup is not the way, and instead of urging them to stick to the peace deal they send officials to stand with the coupists.

The new leaders then begin punitive measures against the east of the country in order thise who want to secede or strengthen federalist powers for their regions.

Crimea, is largely ethnically Russian and a large Russian military presence is permitted in that region. They surround the Ukrainian army and no violence in Crimea is had. The governing officials of the region go to Russia and discuss reunification. A referendum is held without a life being lost and Crimea becomes Russia again.

Trump has an easy choice, simply remove US military from the region.
Obama is a fukking clown with this shyt.
Everyone with sense knows US SF has always been operating on russian border, just like we know US forces where involved in the "euro maiden" shootings, involved in pro-ukraine "militias" in crimea as well. Not to mention we have a fleet doing manuevers in teh baltic.

:ehh: A couple difference narratives at play since Yanukovich seeked to centralize power and doing away with the traditional democratic stance.

Obama had 8 years to start a war but he waited until his last 2 months in office to pull this Russia hoax. Black people are always late...

:snoop: This is a fundamental problem we have in our society. People like this poster right here @Shogun are unable to properly rationalize the debate. Hence they resort to hyperboles such as the bolded above.

I am not even a fan of having a harder stance towards Russia

Really sad actually.
to them, challenging someone openly threatening you scares them

There's also neutrality which de-escalates aggressive motivations from both sides. That region is Russians sphere of influence. Any outside influence will increase tensions. It will eventually boil over if both sides keep pressing. Baltic's have been a neutral zone between the west and east since the fall of the Soviet Union and it needs to stay that way.

The Baltic states would love to stay neutral if they could have confidence that it was possible. It's Russia that keeps them from confidence. Why should they be forced by an outside influence (Russia) to not get their own say on who they will associate with?

I don't see American imperialism as the solution to anything in the world. The countries in that region should handle their own business. It is Russia's sphere of influence :yeshrug:

So you cape for Russian imperialism as a solution to avoiding American imperialism. :francis:

I love how you just copy-and-pasted Russia's explanation of events.

Ignore that it actually started with Ukraine wanting to get associated with the EU, something that has been pursued by multiple Ukraine governments AND which Yanukovich had publically supported.

Ignore that that EU deal was almost complete and had the signing scheduled when Russia threatened Yanukovich with economic retaliation and forced him to go against the people's will and sign with them instead.

Ignore that afte losing the man he'd bribed, Putin filled Crimea with masked soldiers without insignia and denied that his soldiers were in Crimea at all, in multiple violations of international law.

Ignore that after annealing Crimea (without even admitting afterwards that he'd obviously lied about not being in Crimea), Russia then proceeded to invade other portions of Ukraine, again against international law, again while denying it's even there.

Ignore than Russian-supported forces used Russian equipment to shoot down a passenger plane.

Ignore that Russia has pushed forth a dozen self-contradictory lies to explain why it wasn't responsible, including bragging about shooting down a military plane before they realized their error, claiming the plane was a drone with fake bodies that was staged, claiming the plane was shot down by a Ukrainian fighter, claiming it was shot by an allied surface-to-air missile, claiming it was a mistake by forces trying to assassinate Putin, showing fake satellite pics with a Ukrainian fighter behind it AND fake satellite pics with nothing around at all, etc.

Why do you still believe Russian narratives when they've shown such a total disregard for the truth?

How about you research your bullshyt. You didn't really research you read some shyt on wiki. Did you even look at reference [1]. That's a laughable attempt to prove your stance. This guy is a communist, so maybe the Communists love him but that's as far as it goes. And you should know that they are largely marginalized.

So your attempt to make this look like government policy fails again.

You assume too much.
