Syria is one of Irans closest allies so when it comes to War i dont think the west really gives a fukk if Christians get killed in persuit of their ultimate goal which is cutting off Irans access to its allies.

We shouldnt give a fukk about Syria being an ally of Iran, how much can they really offer in terms of support IF it ever really came down to invading Iran. Russia supports Iran and can supply half a continent with weapons and supplies.

I dont think you're really aware of Syrias capabilities to support another nation in a w@r effort. Obviously its great enough for them to be up for regime change because the whos who of bad ass leaders are in their nation tearing shyt up with the help of mercenaries.

I think the goal is to destabalize the nation and to put someone in power who is either western friendly or just leave the nation in chaos which will split the military from acting on behalf of the new regime.

There is no one group behind it. There are alot of people that stand to eat off this so a large group of people have interests and good reason to want to see Iran toppled. assad could have never survived a month if the sunni's (74% of syrians) backed by USA/Turkey/Saudi Arabia/Qatar/UAE/Jordan/Lebanon and Isreal were salivating his downfall. sunni's are majority in 12 of the 14 syrian governorates and also the majority of syrian army it is their strong popular backing why the syrian goverment and their forces are still intact because they know it's not assad who is at stake but syria.
