At the moment it seems unlikely, but all that's really needed is to repeal the filibuster and reclaim the house and it's very possible imo.
No one is going to repeal the filibuster though. The party in the majority at the time may hate it but they know that one day they will be in the minority again and would like to have the option of a filibuster.

But If I choose to not own a car then I am no longer on the hook for car insurance.
Under Obamacare, by virtue of my existence I am required by law to buy private health insurance which is my biggest problem with the whole thing.

When you need medical care you won't go to a hospital?

:jbhmm:There something wrong here. If these people are making so close to the poverty levels, they should be eligible for Medicaid. It seems Medicaid recipients are being forced into the private market, therefore squeezing their incomes unnecessarily. Not to take a hardcore liberal position, but I would bet a good amount of change, that these forced private market people are from republican leaning states.

It's wealthy people who are saying they are paying more is all.

Most everyone else either is insured through their job or is so poor they get a subsidy.

I need to know who's writing these articles to figure out the bias.

Why wouldn't I go to the hospital when I need care? The assumption that everyone is going to be a deadbeat and not pay their medical bills is not something I subscribe to.
And it also is still not a legit comparison to auto insurance.

Yet here we are. Were the hospitals shutting down, emergency room closures, and etc just a coincidence?

I like the sentiment but totally disagree with the timetable.
The re-drawing of districts to get a progressive enough Congress is not 5, 7, 10 or even 20 years down line.
Honestly with the way things are in this country I don't see us having the government in place for a true universal healthcare system for a very long time.
I just meant feasibility. As far as the political will--I mean it took us 40 years to get Obamacare--I don't know when we will have the will for a universal healthcare system. At best, I think we get a Democratic Congress that tweaks Obamacare.

That is because if you get sick enough you will go to the ER and be subsidized by taxpayers. By your very existence as an American citizen you are a healthcare cost. How that cost is distributed is up for debate.

Needs to happens. America can't have parliamentary, ideologically polarized parties, and not have a more majoritarian based political process. Or else we'll be stuck in a constant cycle of Ted Cruz style government shutdowns and governing paralysis.

Obamacare isn't a good system.

Remember though, criticizing or predicting it's drawbacks is racist ..... :sas2:

I just had a person studying to be in the medical industry tell me it's to expensive and they are considering voting for Trump. None of it was prompted they literally had rushed to pay it before penalties kicked in and we're upset.

I don't know what people expected. It was a corporate handout. Removing the ability to not buy gives companies free reign to raise prices at will knowing that people will HAVE to buy their insurance or face fines. And no, it won't get repealed because it is a huge corporate handout, so even though the Republicans are supposedly against it, some how, some way, it will never get removed. Enjoy your political show.

Why do you have to have auto insurance? Why do you have to have a license and pay to keep your car registered?
but that's too protect other people. My health only affects me. But then if I get sick and go to the emergency room everyone has to pay cause I didn't have insurance? So then this current plan is less of a pain when it comes to taxpayers? I mean it's better for the country as whole? Do these insurance companies act in the best interest of the country? Isn't all of this kind of like communism? Sorry if these are dumb questions I genuinely don't know.

Same people besmirching Obama Care
would shoot you in the face if you suggest promoting Veganism and shutting down the toxic food environment propaganda machine, would drastically reduce health care cost:ehh:

To be such a self proclaimed intellectual, you really are a simpleton...how the hell does state regulated auto insurance which you can choose not to have by virtue of not driving equate to the federal government mandating citizens to purchase a private product?
