Obama administration earmarks $12m for Holocaust survivors
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has awarded $12 million for assistance to Holocaust survivors.
"“With this award, we will be able to advance our efforts to provide crucial services to vulnerable survivors, including those living in poverty, those in the Orthodox Jewish community and those from the former Soviet Union,” Mark Wilf, the chairman of the JFNA’s National Holocaust Survivor Initiative, said in a statement."

Shouldn't Germany be cutting that check? :usure:

I mean America created Black Codes and segregation laws that systematically kept Black people from wealth...legally. But our peoples aint got a dime yet.:martin:

Surprised they didn't get 12 billion. Maybe next year.

If you wanna get reparations, YOUR GONNA HAVE TO SUE THE UNITED STATES IN THE WORLD COURT. This is what Johnny Cocaron was working on before he died. Before Reparations can even be paid, the United States would have to apologize first for their role in it. That mean A BLACKMAN AS PRESIDENT Would have to apologize for the way blacks was treated; that shyt isn't happening:rudy: maybe with the next president it might...keyword might!

What Obama rather do is give good education and jobs.

Some Things Barack Obama Has Done For The Black Community
My Brother’s Keeper Community Challenge

In September 2014, President Obama issued a challenge to cities, towns, counties and tribes across the country to become “MBK Communities.” This challenge represents a call to action for all members of our communities, and mayors in particular, as they often sit at the intersection of many of the vital forces and structural components needed to enact sustainable change through policy, programs, and partnerships.
The MBK Community Challenge encourages communities (cities, rural municipalities, and tribal nations) to implement a coherent cradle-to-college-and-career strategy for improving the life outcomes of all young people to ensure that they can reach their full potential, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or the circumstances into which they are born. Nearly 200 mayors, tribal leaders, and county executives across 43 states and the District of Columbia have accepted the MBK Community Challenge.
The six goals of the Challenge are:

    • Ensuring all children enter school cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally ready
    • Ensuring all children read at grade level by 3rd grade
    • Ensuring all youth graduate from high school
    • Ensuring all youth complete post-secondary education or training
    • Ensuring all youth out of school are employed
    • Ensuring all youth remain safe from violent crime
Community leaders can lay the groundwork for an MBK Community in four steps:

    • Accept the President’s Challenge
    • Convene a “Local Action Summit” to build an MBK Community
    • Conduct a policy review and form recommendations for action
    • Launch a plan of action, next steps and a timetable for review

The Middle-Class Tax Cuts’ Impact on AFRICAN-AMERICAN FAMILIES
President Obama is committed to growing our economy from the middle out by ensuring a strong, secure, and thriving middle-class. Now we face a deadline that requires action on jobs, taxes and deficits by the end of the year. While the President is committed to working with Congress to reduce our deficit in a balanced and responsible way, there is no reason to hold middle-class families hostage while we debate tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
MIDDLE-CLASS AFRICAN-AMERICAN FAMILIES CAN’T AFFORD TAX INCREASES
 A median-income African-American-headed family of four (earning around $53,000) could see its income taxes rise by $2,200.

 99 percent of African-American families who make less than $250,000 a year would not see an income tax increase under the President’s plan.

o In addition, roughly 2.0 million working African-American families and roughly 3.4 million African-American children would continue to benefit from the President’s improvements to the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

AFRICAN-AMERICAN FAMILIES HELP DRIVE CONSUMER SPENDING, GROWTH, AND JOBS

The bulk of economic activity comes from American families buying basic necessities like clothing and healthcare; durable goods like cars and furniture; and the food and gifts that millions will enjoy over the holiday season.

 Over the course of this year, American consumers are on pace to spend around $5 trillion on retail sales. And with the start of the holiday shopping season, which accounts for close to one- fifth of retail industry sales nationwide, retailers can’t afford the threat of tax increases on middle-class families
 The retail industry employs around 15 million Americans and has been a key part of the recovery. In the 40 months since the recession ended in June 2009, the retail industry alone has been responsible for more than 9 percent of overall employment growth and has added 438,000 jobs in the past 32 months. About 1.7 million African-Americans are employed in the retail industry.

RAISING TAXES ON THE MIDDLE-CLASS WILL HURT AFRICAN-AMERICANS AND THE U.S. ECONOMY
The US economy can’t afford that right now. New analysis by the President’s Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) finds that:

 Nationally, this sharp rise in middle-class taxes and the resulting decline in consumption could slow the growth of real GDP by 1.4 percentage points.
 Faced with tax hikes, CEA estimates that consumers nationwide will likely spend nearly $200 billion less than they otherwise will in 2013.
EXAMPLES OF MIDDLE-CLASS FAMILIES THAT WILL SEE THEIR TAXES RISE IF THE MIDDLE-CLASS TAX CUTS ARE NOT EXTENDED
 Example 1: A typical middle-income African-American family of four: a married couple with two children with income between about $50,000 and $85,000 would see a $2,200 tax increase.

o A tax increase of $1,000 because the Child Tax Credit will fall from $1,000 to $500 per child.

o A tax increase of about $900 because of merging the 10 percent tax bracket into the 15 percent tax bracket.
o A tax increase of about $300 because of the expiration of marriage penalty relief that provides a larger standard deduction for married couples.

Total Tax Increase on this Family if Congress Fails to Act = $2,200

 Example 2: A single African-American mother with three young children, ages 11 months to 6 years, working full-time at minimum wage ($14,500 annual income).
o A tax increase of $1,725 because the Child Tax Credit will fall from $1,000 to $500 per child, while the threshold for refundability will be substantially more strict.
o A tax increase of $670 because of the expiration of the EITC expansion for larger families.

Total Tax Increase on this Family if Congress Fails to Act = Nearly $2,400

 Example 3: An upper-middle-income African-American married couple with a 15-year-old at home and a 19-year-old in her second year at a public university; the couple’s income is $120,000.
o A tax increase of $700 because, instead of being able to claim the $2,500 American Opportunity Tax Credit to help with college expenses, they will only be able to claim the Hope Credit worth $1,800.
o A tax increase of $500 because the Child Tax Credit will fall from $1,000 to $500 per qualifying child.
o A tax increase of about $900 because of the disappearance of the 10 percent tax bracket.
o A tax increase of $2,400 because of the combination of higher marginal rates and the expiration of marriage penalty relief that provides a larger standard deduction.
Total Tax Increase on this Family if Congress Fails to Act = $4,500

President Obama Signs New Initiative to Improve Educational Outcomes for African Americans
• Increasing the percentage of African American children who enter kindergarten ready for success by improving access to high-quality early learning and development programs;

• Ensuring that all African American students have access to high-level, rigorous course work and support services that will prepare them for college, a career, and civic participation;
• Providing African American students with equitable access to effective teachers and principals in pursuit of a high-quality education, and supporting efforts to improve the recruitment, preparation, development, and retention of successful African American teachers and principals;
• Promoting a positive school climate that does not rely on methods that result in disparate use of disciplinary tools, and decreasing the disproportionate number of referrals to special education by addressing root causes of the referrals;
• Reducing the dropout rate of African American students and increasing the proportion of African American students who graduate from high school prepared for college and career;
• Increasing college access, college persistence, and college attainment for African American students;
• Strengthening the capacity of institutions of higher education that serve large numbers of African American students, including community colleges, HBCUs, Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), and other institutions; and
• Improving the quality of, and expanding access to, adult education, literacy, and career and technical education.
The Presidential Advisory Commission and Federal Interagency Working Group to Enhance Educational Outcomes for African American Students
The Executive Order also creates the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for African Americans, to aid and advise the work of the Initiative. The Commission will advise President Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan on matters pertaining to the educational attainment of the African American community, including the development, implementation, and coordination of resources aimed at improving educational opportunities and outcomes for African Americans of all ages. The Commission will also engage the philanthropic, business, nonprofit, and education communities in a national dialogue on African American student achievement, and work with the Initiative to establish partnerships with stakeholders from these sectors to achieve the objectives of this Executive Order.
The Executive Order also establishes a Federal Interagency Working Group on Educational Excellence for African Americans. The Working Group will be chaired by the Initiative’s Executive Director, and will convene senior officials from the Executive Office of the President and several Cabinet and sub-Cabinet agencies to coordinate the Federal investment in education programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing outcomes for African Americans in early childhood education; elementary, secondary, and postsecondary education; career and technical education; and adult education.
Fukk all that bullshyt my nikka...the government has a WRITTEN agreement on reparations pay back(legal document) they just haven't lived up to the agreement...THEY CUTTIN THAT CHECK...even if it means African Americans will have ownership of gov't through us bonds or us assets...their cutting the check...I promise u:shaq:

Tavis tried to warn folks. And People called cornell west a sellout for goin in on obama but the truth is when obama leaves office black wealth will have almost all been eliminated. By the time folks realize west and tavis were right it will be too late. The disparity between black wealth and other races in this country is worse than its ever been and growing and nobody inlcuding obama is concerned or talking about it. And meanwhile a major bank just pledged billions to increase latinos wealth. If you're still sleeping at this point then you deserve whats coming you.

What do you think the solution is breh :jbhmm:

You don't understand, the Black caucus isn't rooted by us. The NAACP isn't rooted by us. Our Black media isn't rooted by us. The problem is, our roots right now are based in white supremacy. We ain't suppose to have our shyt together is the purpose.

In order to be rooted by us, we have to go back to traditions we haven't done since the 1500's. Fall off of the white supremacy tree and start new roots with old practices.

That's what Marcus Garvey and the UNIA did and they put the FBI on them :brehwow:

LOL Germany cut the biggest check out of everyone.

They bankrolled a lot of Israeli projects straight after the war:

- The Bank of Israel credited the reparations for about 15% of Israel's GNP growth and the creation of 45,000 jobs during the period they were in effect.

- Notably, much of that money went into purchasing equipment for about 1,300 industrial plants; two-thirds of this money was given to 36 factories, most of them owned by the Histadrut. At the same time, hundreds of other plants, mostly privately owned ones, received minimal assistance with reparations money. From 1953 to 1963, the reparations money funded around one-third of investment in Israel's electrical system, helping it to triple its capacity, and nearly half the total investment in Israel Railways, which obtained German-made rolling stock, tracks, and signaling equipment with reparations money. The reparations were also used to purchase German-made machinery for developing the water supply, oil drilling, mining equipment for use in extracting copper from the Timna Valley mines, and heavy equipment for agriculture and construction such as combines, tractors, and trucks.

Germany has been cutting regular checks for their transgressions.

How is Barack Obama supposed to get reparations for African slave descended people? :comeon:
Find a single group that has managed to get reparations after a genocide over 100 years beforehand. :wow:
Is he supposed to wave his Executive Power wand and magically get the entire US Government to admit that the United States committed genocide against Africans and their descendents?
How will they be doled out if he could do this? The vast majority of records were either not kept, destroyed, or lost? What if you're only 1/16 descended, or 1/32, what then?
You nikkas love to throw around the word "c00n" yet none of you have the faintest idea about just how complex and immensely difficult it is.
You know how long it took Raphael Lemkin to get the Genocide Convention in motion? This was at the time where genocides were ACTIVELY happening. :wow:

Reparations for the crack epidemic
Reparations for black wall street
Reparations for mass incarceration
Reparations for Jim Crow
Reparations for violating the 14th amendment

Your pick breh
