Drake to me is no different than some of these other rapper in his generation of rappers. They come out the gate with hype and then they feel themselves to the point where they aren't humble and thinking theyre putting out classics before people say so. They lack that authenticity or thing that makes them interesting. It's not like back in the 90's where folks wanted people to hear their sound or where theyre coming from. He's just basically trying to build off someone else and claim that that's his shyt.
I can't fukk with his music because it's corny. He tries way too hard to make it seem like it's groundbreaking when it's not. Plus he's too cocky. He always was cocky but his cockiness outweighs anything he has done musically. It's almost like he makes himself look bad by being arrogant. Like you can tell someone who started from the bottom and he aint one of those dudes. Guys like wiz Khalifa and j Cole, though I find j Cole to still be finding his sound where he's missing something, to be more authentic. Kendrick Lamar too. However, I think these guys kind of aren't the same like the old school rappers where they understand rap and hip hop where they have a love for it. They might rap good, might be good producers but dunno if they're rapping for the love of the music or for other reasons.
