Right,
@AVXL, let's breakdown what you quoted:
You said -
Who cares if they have higher ceilings if we have a better team than Washington?

That's arguable. Yall probably have the stronger/deeper bench, but the Wizards have the near-perfect starting makeup. Star players, shooting, playmakers, veterans, low post scoring and defense.
I would like to know what's funny with this statement and how is this me moving the goalposts? I said it's arguable that your team is better - I wasn't laughing at the prospect of the Hawks being the better team - just that it was arguable. Why did you quote this? It doesn't prove a thing. The Wizards did have the better starting lineup - problem was their best player was injured for the entire series. How would your team have dealt with your best player being out/injured for the entire series?

There's no debate that yall have performed better up to this point, but that doesn't automatically mean that by the time the end of the regular season rolls around, that'll still be the case. The Wizards are much better equipped to handle the playoffs than yall are. Can we at the VERY least wait until the end of the regular season before yall start crownin this team as eastern conference champs?
Again, how am I moving the goalposts? The Wizards were better equipped to handle the playoffs - because they had something that yall didn't - a legitimate star player. Again, as above - if Horford was injured for that entire series and Wall was healthy - the Wizards would've won that series.

How did the argument change from the Hawks are a legit contender, to the Hawks better make the finals?
See now, this is where your selective quoting gets you into trouble - if you had read properly, you would see how a good portion (you're included in this) of Hawks fans were laughing at the thought of either the Cavs, Bulls or Wizards beating yall.

Because it's easier to move the goalposts & redefine the argument than it is to give us respect. I'm still laughing at anybody thinking the Cavs are a legit contender for anything other than a first round exit
And that @Gil Scott-Heroin dude is funny...he has no problem projecting how the Cavs, Bulls, Wiz will do in the playoffs but when you mention us " it's only been half the season, we need more time". FOH
Again, this is clearly a case of you not reading properly.
There was no moving of goalposts, at all. I'd like you to show where I did move them. Because as far as I can see all the posts that you've quoted from me are what I've said about the makeup of other teams in the Eastern conference. At no point did I put a record marker on your team - which is why I fail to see how you came up the conclusion I was changing my projections on how your team would fare in the playoffs.
