King David being a man after God's own heart always baffled me. I hated that fool.
Also some African Gods weren't worth anything either. I always laughed at Chinua's Achebe's pantheon of Gods in Things Fall Apart and their threats/characteristics. One spirit rolled up on people and was like, "Do you know who I am? I am Evil Forest, I kill a man on the day life is sweetest to him."
Some of our Gods were so heavy handed Christianity came as a relief from their tyranny.
