I have no logical explanation for why I am enjoying a black metal album so much, but I seriously can't go a day without playing this Deafheaven. Its like the black metal version of MBV Loveless...I guess I just get lost in the soundscapes and the screaming is mixed quietly enough that it doesn't get grating. Plus the interludes really break up the chaos.

As I do with any album that 'forces' me to double digit repeated listens, I have graduated it into the 9/10 category.

Some electronic gems dropping

That Boards Of Canada is sick, only thing that holds it back is I think some of the slow interlude type tracks all sound like intros, they don't really stand up on their own. Nonetheless, the album is crazy good

Then I saw this Pitchfork review for this Jon Hopkins which I had never heard of and I liked the song they posted so I am listening to the whole album now...there are some tracks on here, I really like it and generally I'm not huge on dance music (although I'm not sure this qualifies really as "dance" music, more of a blend of dance and ambient and authentic dubstep)
