Every other hockey player has slurs directed toward them by fans and players?
No one said every single hockey fan is racist but without a doubt there is a significant current of racism in hockey that is noticeable.
You can dig your head in the sand but I don't see how you can be so dismissive of experiences of guys ranging from Laraque to Simmonds to Weekes to Grier to Trevor Daley.
I wasn't saying there isn't racism.
I was saying that all these old heads, all these dudes that aremaking the moves and calling the shots don't like it when ANY of these players don't walk the "hockey" line
ANYONE(regardless of color, or nationality) must fit that professional hockey player mould that they want(in their eyes)
they must wear suits, they must not act out, they must be humble and not flashy,etc.
ovechkin got blasted for that shyt forever. lots of players. it ain' just the black players.
Subban gets his hate for his own reasons. and some of it is justififed and some of it ain't
but that ain't no different than Ovechkin getting hated
when you are a good player, and you are in the media, dudes will say ANYTHING contrary just to get headlines.
Most fans....and I mean MOST REAL fans know the deal. and thats why PK gets a lot of love around here. he's a polarizing payer(like ovechkin) and the media plays both sides whenever they want to for the talking heads to have something to say.
I WILL NOT say that racism doesn't exist in hockey, because it does. it exists in our society.but looking at things objectively and you can see that alot of the things he gets targeted for are the same things that other players have done.
