This Actress could have been edited down by 20 or 30 minutes. Some of these songs have no business being 5,6, 7 minutes long. But there are certainly some gems mixed in here.
After the first 5 songs I found myself saying "I really have to listen to 12 more of these?" but then it picked up from there
Here is my favorite track on first listen, you can stream it without downloading. The audio quality is correct, the grittiness is how the whole album sounds

First impression is 8/10, but I was annoyed at the beginning thinking all the songs were going to be too long and drawn out so maybe I might even like it better the second time now that I know that isn't the case

Just purchased a pair of these bad boys plus an amp so I can improve my listening experience this year:

Been really into experimental ambient electronic music recently so I wanted a pair of headphones that could truly "transport" me into the world. Dropped $190 on a pair of Sennheiser HD598's which were supposed to be great entry level audiophile headphones. Put on Haxan Cloak's "Excavation" and them phones went right into the bushes
. Terrible sub bass, my earbuds actually sound better with that album than those phones did even though every other album I played on them sounded awesome. So I sold some shyt so I could drop the 600 bucks necessary to buy these HE400's plus a suitable amp and better cables.
I'm kicking off the 2014 music season in style brehs....been wanting audiophile quality headphones for a decade now and finally upgraded

No, I listen off an 90's era cd deck, should be plenty good. Grabbed a schiit magni amp for it

TRST was one of my favorite albums from 2012. They have a new one coming out in March though Maya Postepski left the group which I dunno will be a blow or not. This new single just doesn't seem to be as layered or as rich as the stuff on the last album. Decent song though I reckon.

I like the song but doesn't it seem oddly "clean" for them? I thought they had more of a vintage filtered sound with their instrumentation before, or am I just remembering incorrectly? I don't really like too clean of a sound with electronic music

It's too clean and way more simpler than their older stuff. Their older stuff was much more lush and rich sounding.
this is fantastic.
Chromeo have always been hit or miss with me but i've liked all the songs from their new album so far.
thought that new Real Estate album was due out this month or Feb but it doesn't even have a title never mind a release date. shame.
