I heard that espn stat this morning. they take out vancouver and salt lake and leave u turin to compare. before that doesn't matter b/c there were 20-30 less events in the winter olympics. this has been a massive failure in hockey, bode, speed skating, etc.

Norway won almost all their medals in cross country skiing, great for them. they dominated that one sport that just so happened to give out so many medals.
just like the Netherlands won almost all of their medals in speed skating, congrats to them too, they dominated that one sport that also just happened to give out so many medals.
maybe if curling and hockey had more opportunities for medals Canada would have more.
at least Russia, US, and Canada are more diverse in their medal hauls

it means you're towing the line. If you can say Norway won in skiing then Canada did it's with the women and I guess the men. This is likely to happen given the Winter Olympics are so much smaller. Instead of saying they won at one sport we should have taken medals from them. Same with the US. They won the most medals but the gold is clearly lacking.
