No I've seen him plenty of times. I knew he'd be a star ever since the 2008 world juniors.

it's not the ice, Canada has out skated, and outplayed every team they have played thus far. including the Fins.
the problem is not the big ice or the fact that the team doesn't have speed its that teams are playing safe. Teams are just clogging the defensive zone and not allowing much movement or any lanes.
The fact that Canada almost doubled the shots of the Fins is impressive in itself.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this Canadian team right now. They are playing smart, yet still playing aggressive enough to get chances.
they are also playing faster then their opponents.

Who cares about individual stats when the team is winning. Crosby and Co. are still effective despite not putting up crazy points.

nothing he wrote is accurate at all.
he's just an emotional dude with no rational thought. I don't even think he watches the games. Cuz if he did he would know that the offence has been putting in work, speed is NOT the problem, and Crosby has been playing pretty tough down low creating space and chances for other players.

If the offence has been putting in work it would show on the scoreboard. The eye test is not good enough sometimes. Other then Jeff Carter on Friday 3 goals and 2 goals win. Finland was also missing major players today. Do you think we win a shootout today? Maybe. It used to be for sure yes.
rask made some great saves today. he earned every save
we outshot them something like 27-14(I'll double check later but I'm sure thats it)
Rask is a top goalie, and played like it today. He's been a top goalie in the NHL so him playing this way is something they were expecting

PK should be the 7th d and used mostly on powerplay. Get St.louis in for Kunitz. Funny how bigger ice doesn't make for a more open game. This trap and then collapse d is annoying. Even the US only scored on the powerplay against Russia who has a weak defense.

The entire point of the bigger ice is to trap though. Clog the middle, limit scoring chances. That's the tight euro defense played overseas. Disciplined hockey.

Teams are NOT taking chances or playing like they do in the NHL.
teams are loading up the blue line and not letting much get by and when they do they clog the lanes. waiting for someone to get caught out of position or make a mistake. then they will just shoot up a pass to the one guy "cheating" and develop scoring chances that way.
its the Euro way, and its not really fun to watch(if you are used to watching NHL hockey), but it can be effective if you are under manned with talent.
thats why alot of games will be low scoring close battles. especially if they have a hot goalie.
its like watching the NJ devils all over again...but every team, all the time.
It's also why Canada has been playing really cautious this year and playing smart.
dudes want Canada to go all out and play like they do in the NHL, but when they do and get caught out they will complain that they can't play on the "big ice"

Canada has been playing exactly the way they should be on the "bigger ice" they have gotten scoring chances and they have been making plays. But the goalies(especially Rask) have kept their teams in it.
this isn't just Canada either. Other top teams have been playing the same tight games.
