Reincar is embarrassing.

PK should be the 7th d and used mostly on powerplay. Get St.louis in for Kunitz. Funny how bigger ice doesn't make for a more open game. This trap and then collapse d is annoying. Even the US only scored on the powerplay against Russia who has a weak defense.

im embarrasing because i said pk should not be scratched adn hamhuis and kunitz stapled to the press box? :wtf:

I know that's what happens. Just funny how a bigger rink leads to a more clogged game.
its because in the NHl we are more used to a "dump and chase" kind of game which doesn't really work on the bigger ice because you can't always get to the puck in time, which gets you out of position and allows the other team to just do this long passes that lead to breakaways and 2 on 1's (for one example)

so this leads to teams trying to carry the puck up closer, so the other team just stacks 4 on the blue line making it hard to push through clogging up the middle. and if you make a mistake they have that one "cheater" that is always ready to take that long pass and make a break.

Exactly.

Teams are NOT taking chances or playing like they do in the NHL.
teams are loading up the blue line and not letting much get by and when they do they clog the lanes. waiting for someone to get caught out of position or make a mistake. then they will just shoot up a pass to the one guy "cheating" and develop scoring chances that way.
its the Euro way, and its not really fun to watch(if you are used to watching NHL hockey), but it can be effective if you are under manned with talent.

thats why alot of games will be low scoring close battles. especially if they have a hot goalie.

its like watching the NJ devils all over again...but every team, all the time.

It's also why Canada has been playing really cautious this year and playing smart.
dudes want Canada to go all out and play like they do in the NHL, but when they do and get caught out they will complain that they can't play on the "big ice"

fukking dummies. too many fake ass know it alls in here. just started watching hockey recently(or so it seems)

Canada has been playing exactly the way they should be on the "bigger ice" they have gotten scoring chances and they have been making plays. But the goalies(especially Rask) have kept their teams in it.

this isn't just Canada either. Other top teams have been playing the same tight games.

ive been watchign hockey since i was 3 years old, i played hockey from 5 to 13, i played against future nhlers :camby:

:snoop: your wrong teams play this type of game because they don't have the talent nor the speed on defence to slow down fast talented nhl forwards, as well its easy as hell to implement

its what greece did in the euro cup years ago they didn't hve the flashy midfielders and strikers so they parked the bus, its what teams do in college basketball as well

is this the gold medal game?
a canada loss would not have done anything just that they would play russia in the quarterfinals.
ok, so let me get this straight.
you think canada has been playing poorly. yet you would prefer that they play a harder team in Russia right away rather than having another game like Switzerland or Latvia to prepare themselves for the Semis??

C'mon bruh, just admit...you are way to emotional over some stupid shyt(whether PK should be starting or not is good or bad) its still really juvenile to just turn your back on your team cuz of that.

playing weak opponents doesn't get you prepare,

last olympics canada had to play the quarterfinal game and had to go against russia and they won.

canada has no momentum no groove nothing at the moment

tell me what I said was wrong??

its not the same with Greece, because the field sizes are the same every where. here teams have to adjust to the size of the ice. changing game plans and designing new strategies to work with it.

Playing ANY opponents in such a short tournament is definitely a plus. it gives the players(and coaches) time to work with each other and figure out what works and what doesn't
that is why there have been so many lineup changes already in only three games. they are trying to see what works best.
having extra games allows them to figure that stuff out.

how the fukk can you be so blind??

no momentum?
no groove?

have you even watched these games?

the ice size is the same everywhere. Like I said teh reason teams play this trap, all men back etc. no man forward is teh same reason what chelsea did when they played barcelona, barcelona had more talent, chelsea just kept everyone back the majority of the time.

Teams can't play like sweden, canada, like a free flowing game they'd get killed. This is the only way you can keep the game close. Look even at finland, frigging jussi jokinen a 3rd/4th liner on pitt was on teh first line, olli jokinen was getting prime minutes.
