Explain the chinese and indians, breh. In the summer Olympics we do 10 to1 against Canada at least. In the winter Olympics which in the US includes activities that only rich, white people participate in, we still clean up in total medals even though we usually don't win the most golds. The nations that clean up in these winter events have much of their sports culture dedicated to these activities and have a long legacy of success in them. German, Swiss bobsled. Canadian hockey, Austrian Alpine, Dutch speed skating etc.. The Norwegians have an event NAMED after them and usually dominate in all variations of it. The US in spite of the strange weather of late is not a winter nation but we still remain competitive in most of the "activities" and we dominate in the summer games. So I will re-iterate.

the US has had 4 winter olympics!! but yet they are not a winter nation huh?

the US also spends the most money ion training facilities and research for the athletes.

us is a winter nation many places are colder than canada

canada has only held 2 winter olympics (calgary and vancouver) compared to usa.
(squaw valley, lake placid twice, salt lake city.

all winter sports you need $$$, to figure skate coaching and arena time is $$, to play hockey is $$, to ski is $$, to snowboard is $$$, speed skating $$$.

canada only really put funding into sports the last 8 years when they got the vancouver games.

btw example for bobsled the top teams have sleds designed by ferrari, bmw and stuff that have top of the line ish, thats why they finish first and jamaica with a crummy old sled finishes dead last
