Should Muhammad Ali have gotten more of a tribute than Prince though:jbhmm:?

That shyt didnt sit right with me,he is by faaaar a bigger icon and meant more to black people thqn Prince,he lowkey shoulda had the whole show like they gave Michael.

I feel you but at the same time it is still a musical award & Prince is/was a music legend. Kinda hard to do a bigger tribute to Ali when he was a boxer, even tho he obviously means alot outside of just boxing.

Everything happens in Cycles. No fad or trend is permanent.. you just have to pay attention to the cycles and era of time in which we live at any given moment. We've been in a reality show/social media driven, Kardashian influenced culture that praised attention without accomplishment& popularity without substance.

Just the addiction to being seen by people without actually representing anything of quality FOR people. Well Jesse Williams speech the other night, Kendrick Lamar's success, J.Cole's success, etc prove that we're re-entering a cycle where substance, depth, and quality in character are just as important again.

I mean, the hottest hip hop song right now is by 90s artists (fat joe/remy)who represent a different hip hop ethic than some of the more recent artists.. That alone speaks volumes.. substance& depth are back, for one because the times are too crucial. It's all cycles.
