It's really good but its not gonna be an aoty contender for me.
I like every song, but much like with all LCD albums I find that he tends to make a lot of tracks that feel stationary and lose my attention, despite the excellent grooves
I find them to be at their best when the track is moving forward and the vocal melody keeps me drawn in. Call The Police is my favorite track from the album, although How Do You Sleep is close despite far too long of an intro
Despite its flaws, its a great album. When he sings "my mother was a cripple and my father was a drunk but gentle man" I get that euphoric feeling that I am always seeking, and I can't help but long for an album full of forward-driving cuts like that.
It terms of well produced and written pop albums of 2017, I would still give Lorde's album the advantage. But I would be hard pressed to find another.

I've never listened to them before and I think it's amazing.

i was very pessimistic initially, but WOW, James crushed it
I like Chelsea Wolfe, Myrkur, Arca,the national shyt better
was never a fan of lcd tho
i really wanted to like the national album but i dont know hasnt done it for me yet
arca was cool for sure, but ultimately its just too 'airy' for me if that makes any sense
I'm really looking forward to see what she can do with her 2nd album. The debut was solid and this sound is a subtle but very nice change.

Its pretty damn good, but a step down for her. She is one of the most creative guitarists in the world, she is doing her art a disservice by not using itSt Vincent's new album is dope!
Nonetheless, there still a lot of good songs.
i remember making a comment in this thread talking about so many artists that dropped in 09/10 dropping this year.
Cults dropped a new album to add to that list..had no idea they were still around.
and i was skeptical about that LCD album but when it dropped it was Fashion Week or the build up to fashion week when i was going to castings and when i walked out on the cobbled streets and Oh Baby started playing in the headphones..i must say, it felt right.
i still have quite a few albums to catch up on.
how did any of your feel about that Rostam album ? its nice but kind of dim.
