First things first is to NOT have the goddamn award show after the fukking playoffs. It's absurd. You do something like this after the regular season.

And you don't have corny ass Drake hosting

And you really don't need Nicki Minaj performing. This is the NBA awards not the Grammys.

The problem is that if you do it in between regular season and the playoffs a number of players won't show up because they are preparing for the playoffs.

The NBA is not doing this for the hardcore NBA fans. They know they got us already...this is their way of going after kids, men who casually care, and women.

I like the idea, just not the execution. It'll be GOAT status in a few years, but right now it just feels kinda dead. They should model it to be more like NFL Honors, this feels like end of the year award ceremony at your local high school

I know people gonna think it's a terrible idea, but I'd combine it with the draft for one grand event
