Geno's still looked way better than Johnson tonight, even with the two picks against second and third stringers.

you like that pick?????

How bout that dime of a TD pass? And that other TD that was called back?

Obviously a shaky start but it's preseason. First start of his career. It happens. Kobe Bryant threw up air balls in the playoffs as a rookie. Then he became the best player of his generation.

Dobbs came back strong after facing some early adversity. That is the sign of GREATNESS. Most other rookies would have folded. Not Dobbs. He came back after those ugly INTs and balled out.

dobbs looks really bad

Put that shaky start in perspective.

(1) He's the only rookie thus far who played against a first team defense. The rest only played against backups thus far. And as you saw once he started playing the backups his play also picked up.

(2) Giants first team defense is really good. Lots of good starting QBs struggled against them last year.

(3) Steelers weren't babying him. If you saw Trubisky and Watson play, they had lots of roll-outs, half field reads, and threw mainly out of the shotgun. Dobbs on the other hand was under center mostly and wasn't doing a lot of roll outs and half field reads. Steelers had him running the full playbook. That shows how much further he is mentally than most rookies at this point.

(4) He did a great job overcoming adversity. Most rookie QBs would have folded after a start like that. But not Dobbs. He shook it off and made a bunch of really good plays the rest of the way. Both with his arm and his legs. A couple of his best plays not counting on the stat sheet because of drops and penalties.

All in all I was incredibly encouraged by his first start. He looked poised after the rough start. And he showed that duel threat ability that made him special in college.

Josh Dobbs will be a superstar in the NFL.

@Swagnificent where the fukk you at nikka :mjlol:

:dahell: Watching the game.

Saw the great Robert Joshua Dobbs overcome some early adversity to put together a very promising first start.

I'm encouraged. No other rookie QB actually faced a first string defense. Let alone one as talented as the Giants. Dobbs was shaky to start but came back and made plays both with his arm and legs. He also showed the elusiveness that made him special in college a couple of times that should have resulted in big plays. Unfortunately they were dropped or called back by penalty so they didn't show up in the stat.

All in all I thought it was a great performance because of how he overcame the adversity he created. Most rookies would have folded after such a start. Not Dobbs. He just came back and just made plays.

Hall of Fame career just started.
