Can't believe he survived yesterday's game. That was an embarrassing effort.

I posted about how they should've fired him in the summer. I suspect Dubas wanted to and Shanahan saved him which is why he made the announcement today as a mea culpa. Huge mistake as the writing was clearly on the wall. I hope they can turn it around in time. And you still have people saying it was an early firing.

He won once in 2008 while having Lidstrom, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg in their primes (among others). Lidstrom could've played for 5 more years easily but couldn't stand Babcock anymore. The idea that this guy is some amazing coach is nuts. We saw him get routinely outcoached in Toronto and the team only regressed during his tenure despite upgrades to the roster and natural maturation of the young stars.
Dubas got him John Tavares and Jake Muzzin without giving up anything on the roster
40-42 in the last 82 games. The Senators have more wins than the Leafs and they're tanking. He's gotta wear a big part of this.

babcock is so overrated, i always remember how he treated subban on team canada. Dude ate of scotty bowman players then did nothing for years
