both brown and baker beat martha coakley who is one of the worst political candidates in the state's history. as long as shes not the nominee AGAIN i dont see a republican winning a Mass. senate election

massachusetts electorate is much more likely to vote for republicans in state elections than federal ones
I am saying that under Massachusetts law, the run off does not need to be scheduled for 145 days. The most productive days of a presidency are the first 100. I used Scott Brown as an example not as a carbon copy of what would happen. I don’t know how you guys don’t recall how Harry Reid himself was worried about this scenario when team Hillary floated putting Warren in the ticket in 2016 and he had to meet with legal scholars. The strategy they came up with was that Warren would write a resignation letter and that the election would be scheduled 145 days from then. Warren herself only won her initial 2012 race by like 7 points and that was in an election year with Obama carrying her through. I’m saying the combined factors of 5 months of a Republican (potentially) and the outside chance of running against a popular governor does not make it worth it. I can’t speak to Vermont law.

I almost aware that Team Sanders is considering it and has inquired into whether Warren could be VP and Treasury Secretary at the same time (she can).

2 points to be made here in regards to the DNC and the App:

1. The app was not working when it was first given to the precincts and no one, including the DNC ensured that the staff running the precincts were trained on the app. That is a failure of whoever procured the app, the app developer AND the DNC who was aware of the issue.

2. The Dem chairman in the biggest IA county bushed the app immediately upon his precinct having issues with it upon delivery and decided to phone in results per normal practice. The issue with this, no party leaders were available for them to relay the results to. That is a failure on both IA Democratic party and DNC.

Procedure and process is a top-down responsibility in many organizations. As has been stated in here already, with us living in a time where outside election interference is not only a real threat but a past reality, you would think the top of the organization would take some responsibility in the process that yields results they will ultimately deliberate on.

Yes, its a failure on multiple ends but if this was a fortune 500 corporation, we would immediately view this as a failure in management and potentially at the executive level.
If this is true then everyone associated with the Iowa Caucus should be unemployed once the final tallies are certified. All volunteers have to be trained on ALL technology that's being used.

The night before the election you have to setup and run through every station that will be open. You're supposed to test all the equipment that's in use. If there were any issues with any apps the state party should've known about it Sunday night and executed their contingency plan Sunday night.

In addition, if the app hadn't been tested for go live at least a month ago EVVVVVERYBODY involved in greenlighting the app should be fired. We shouldn't even be arguing about this right now. Every campaign should request a copy of the stress test, have their engineers review it, and submit their responses to the DNC.

There are too many Democrats in this country with knowledge of app/system development for this type of bullshyt to get swept under the rug as mere "incompetence".
